I'm unable to connect to uthgard, or any other server for that matter. I am not sure if I can't join the other servers due to my client being patched for uthgard or not. I get an error message telling me to check my firewall settings but I have attempted to join with my anti virus and firewalls disabled. I played yesterday and I did not change any settings. I has happened all multiple computers on my network and I do not have access to a computer with the client outside of my network to test if it is my router. Any suggestions?

So what did you try?

I've traced the route for uthgard and all hops are resolved. I've disabled firewall/anti virus. I've repatched the game client. I've verified my static IP and forwarded ports. I've rebooted my cable modem and router. I've repatched the portal.

Edit 1: At times i make it all the way to the zoning screen. some times i only make it to char select. some times it only does the DAOC loading screen and it fails to connect. sometimes i get the error "could not connect to the authentication server"

Sounds like some serious network problems if you once was in charscreen.

I have internet and can connect to the servers for other games (league of legends, minecraft). its just daoc through the portal. I was litterally playing 22 hours ago.

I've got a guildie with same issue. We've been on Vent with him for last 2.5 hous trying to resolve with no luck. Does someone have a suggestion other than what's stated above?

I am having a very similar issue. I've tried to reupdate to let it back it up to 1.113, i've copied a different game.dll file to go even further back, I've rebooted the router, I've rebooted the computer, I've double and triple checked my firewall settings even completely disabled it.

Sometimes i get to the initial load screen and it crashes, sometimes i get all the way to character selection screen, sometimes i get to the zone load screen but it never goes past that. It will complete its zone load screen then the music stops playing and it sits there.

A friend was able to log into my account and my character so i don't think its a zone issue that my character needs moved.

I'm not sure what to try next other then a full wipe of the game.

Any ideas?

Most recently i'm seeing the error code "Cannot connect to the Authorization server, please check your firewall settings"

But like everyone else.. i was literally playing last night and made no changes.

Well i'm not sure if they fixed something.. or if i fixed something. I tried a few last things... last I downloaded a previous game.dll file then re-patched. Then i went to my firewall settings and went through 4 different DAOC that were on there and gave it approval to run through ANY type of protocol not just the one it had selected by default.

Who knows.. I'm back in the game.

Check traceroute to server.uthgard.net

Also repatch your client. Delete mft.myp and start camelot.exe again. Let DAoCPortal patch again. Make sure you have V2.8c. Use a 1.113 compatible UI (else possible crash after char select)

Ok so he managed to get back the character screen after live patch then portal patch. Logged into a different character than his main and he showed up as his main instead with all of his mains skills and items. He showed up /who as his main and in chat as his main. We deleted his character ini file and it worked.

This message indicates that the server is down (in one way or another...it could be a locked server, update, etc.). Many of my friends are experiencing it at this moment.

As an addendum, to help those in search of this issue:

Could not connect to the authentication server. Please check your firewall settings.

(error: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond)

For april 11 Connection issues. If you are on EST zone might be weather related affected... I know the last big storm that passed by made it impossible to connect to uthgard but to connect to regular things.. and odd thing so may be unable to log in unless ur not part of a current storm system then hey.. who knows.
