Technically, the live server (or cluster) is international now and any european could play there; some still do I guess. Playing on Uthgard is not so much about not having a liver-server alternative, but the setting. So I still don't really get it ^^

Of course it's international but the point is - it never died. Thus they never felt the need to search for a Freeshard version of the game.

To the OP: I get it, but as it was shown there is soooo many reasons why making a lvl 50 BG would NOT work. It would only make Emain an even less populated zone. I dont care if you made the RR cap RR10, people would finish the BG, complain that a RR10L5 toon beat him then reroll a new lvl 50 BG toon. Yes, BG's are easier. They are supposed to be. Leveling at lvl 10 is also easier then lvl'ing at lvl 48, but that doesnt mean they should make it easier. The BG's are meant to be a stepping stone, not the final end of RvR. Everyone says it so hard to compete, but I've made 2 solo toons that both did just fine coming out of Thid. Yes, it was rough for those first 10-20 RR's but it gets easier. Why do some players think they should get to bypass this, while the rest of us had to bust our butts?

BTW, I too also play during American Prime Time, and it has its benefits and negatives. The benefits are that its not quite as zergy and so you have alot more options in the set ups you want to run and the amt of people you want in your group. Small man during Euro time is hard to pull off. Small man during American time does really well. Of course it also means there will be times when there isn't much to fight, but you take the bad with the good. I actually prefer to RvR during American time as opposed to Euro time. Euro time is to zergy for my taste, but to each their own.

Lasatard said it best. If you want to improve Frontier RvR then the best way you can do that is to go out and experience it. If more and more low RR players go out then that means there will be more and more low RR players to fight. Instead, they would all just rather reroll new alts rather then taking that time to get a good template and adjust their playstyle to be more effective in the frontiers.

As far as why we are always lacking American players, I still say its because in America not many people want to play a 10+ year old game. The ones that would still want to play this game are getting to the age that they dont have the time to invest in a game like this anymore. I have told many of my friends that used to play on Live about this server. They all seem interested till they try it out and they quickly remember how much time this game eats up and then they decide not to play.
