Heys,

although I am quite a daoc vet, I never used keybinds much. Lately, I noticed I lost some solo fights as I reacted to late.

I only have a mouse with lmb and rmb and wheel.

I think the most important stuff which needs to readily available are:
Insta Stun (popped by stealther)
Last Attacker
Face
Speedchant + Hide(so I can hide quickly while running around)
Next Attacker

Any other tipps?

Greets,
Dirty

Not sure if it's the best choice for you but i'll give my keyoard setup that works well for me.

I always use number keys for melee styles and '1' for stick, so it's the same for my minstrel. Positionals are on 4-5, I find them easier to use while strafing(go through > face or stick > perform)

'q' and 'e' for insta DDs(old habbit, I was using them for for shocks on my shaman in wow :P )

'r' face

'f' weapon / 'g' flute / 'H' drum

songs are around instruments, have flute mezz on 't' pom on 'y' (not easy to reach but pom timing is not vital anyway) 'b' for speed. so you need to just play 'h' then 'b' for speed and they are realy close.

'v' for spirint, by the speed.

'c' for hide

'<' for free camera

'z' fixed camera

F keys are for stun, purge, Ip and potions.

only mouse button I use for bind is the middle one, thats for charm. easy to left click and then middle click to charm.

Thank you for the input - it wont copy it, but it gives me some good hints.

I play minstrel and reaver - so I have to watchout, to make keyboard layout similar, so I can use it for both...

Maybe i use slam and insta stun on one key... confuse and dot... and the regular stuff anyway, like face, stick, run, last attacker ...

At least they are both hybrids, and no caster/healer, where keys would be totally different.

Any further opinions?

Nearby binds for urgent or frequently used spells (like purge or instants in your case).

Unbind your move left, behind, right buttons. That frees up three very nearby keys and you should be turning with your mouse anyway. I don't remember all the default settings but rebind irrelevant stuff like quest log or torch if they interfere with what you have in mind.

Don't forget you can use CTRL + [number] and ALT + [number] for that 2nd and 3rd qbar aswell as SHIFT + [key].

You might screw up a bit in the beginning but once you're used to it all you'll notice you'll be a lot faster than before.

It's not entirely perfect but it helped me a lot when I came back to DAoC after a few years.

ctrl/alt keys make you stop running which is not good for a class that needs to kite imo. Maybe only useful for face+cast for some classes since face already stops you. I have used ctrl+1 for face and ctrl+2 for any cc for some casters before but only spell you need to stop to cast is aoe mezz for minstrel which is not useful with 5 sec cast time unless you find bunch of afk ppl standing together. :)
