once charge is gone they wont catch us. pretty much the idea ^^
and since theres no banes we just gotta ride it out and spread. and 2nd bard is for more then just the sos tbf, more insta cc's more bases ( not that their needed, but still) and decent off heals. also u wont end up lacking end/speed what have you, if one person has to twist speed + end + power + cc + clear mezzes etc.

plan was to simply play the second bard as a laidback aug healer... similar playstyle

Many setups can work when played for sure, but charge will be gone for exactly 1 and a half minute, as most tanks that can afford it take charge 3, it's simply broken good on uthgard.

it can't be that good cus there isnt any banelords, + the templates people have here, if u charge into -50% cold and 3 elds and a chanter thats spread. youll drop in a matter of seconds.

The BTL caster group seems to be doing well.

maybe they are doing well, but vs competitive grps i dont see any caster grp winning vs equally good tank setups.

Have you seen emain spam from them? They're pretty much farming all the high rr groups, only MB was winning few days ago, nobody else. If they are well coordinated, charge tanks are not that strong against them, especially zerkers since they don't have slam. At one point, I saw 3 cabalist pets, 1 sorc pet, ****** of theurg pets. These guys know how to play, everything is nearsighted on inc and if one tank gets mezzed, you simply don't have enough tanks to handle their support, and you need to split your few tanks across at least 3-4 high priority targets, which means when only 1 tank gets cc'ed and they are free to debuff and nuke you, it's game over. DAOC is Alb love game anyway, but these guys knowing what to do makes it all the harder xD. I know that some SOS+aotg on inc mid groups killed them a few times, but that was when they pugged up to fill the group, when they run with their set group, I've only seen mids explode every time.

In a setgroup it will work with a decent rr, but not if u plan starting this to EU prime time with low rr or in a poolgroup (if u plan running on a regular basis u will need more than 8 players and caster setup will be hard with switching players).

The key here is, u guys wanna play to EU prime in emain? > wont work imho, too much high rr semi setgroups - but u can try for sure

Ah and one advice btw, dont do that ****** without hero in group. You will really need his slams/snares/guard/dashing defense - else ur casters will instagib too and not only your enemys.

here's the thing..
We've been playing toghetter for years on live, pretty much played an active extend group for 5+ years.
but were new to the server so would be on a buncha rr 2's..
the setup we hand in mind are :
bard
bard
druid
druid
ench
eld
eld
animist/3rd eld

reason for the 2nd bard is potential interoupts + a second sos vs the gazillion charge tanks out there. also eventually we'd have the eld rr5's as a good tool vs chargers

As some has already said a hero is needed. For slams/snares and especially to avoid full assist tanks/aotg which destroy your casters one by one.

You will need a guardbot yeah, against rare group or other pushers you will have trouble: split charge+stun at inc, your 3 casters will be always rupted on your low RR.

caster grps are vulnarable to cc,
thats why I like the Btl setup with 2 demezzers
hib castergrps have the problem w/o mentalist they don't have a 2nd demezz and the bard therefor plays really passive, thus a druid rupts the enemy support if there is any rupt at all.
i think its very wise to find a balance in caster/tank strength per group, you rarely see any groups with 2-3 casters and 1-2 tank
you mostly see either 1 caster rest tanks, full tanks, or full caster.
For hibs for example you almost never see 1 bm 3caster/2caster-warden hero drui drui bard, although those setups if played well are just as potent and deadly as the other setups. It would also give you an edge over your oponent, a factor imo Btl is curently experiencing, as an enemy you almost never hit caster grps therefor you don't allways have the needed experience/tactics/thinking of wich target to go for wich is key for a successfull tank push grp.
I think the only grp that ran with a similar setup was Morrigans Breath with 1 eld 1 ench. And my group struggled alot because there was alot confusion going on in that fight and i think we either lost more or were tied.
Sadly they change their setup alot especcialy if they lose even if it was a close fight.

Sure you could argue now that Mentalist and Enchanter don't bring as much utility as an eldrich into your group. Yes you can't deny that, but they also bring essential parts into your caster groups debuff/demezz.
I like Midgard/Albion Caster groups alot more for that reason, the setup doesn't give the feeling you hinder yourself when you pick certain classes, wich is more true for albion than for midgard imo (tanks require a theu wich is more or less useless for you as you don't necesarily need the rupt).
Therefor i see albion as the strongest caster groups.
Midgard though can run really tough hybrid groups if they would manage to run a stricter setup/playerpool.
I think caster grp/caster havier hybrid is the next step to a tougher 8v8 and 8vX.

Ps: Damn I would like a pvp server setup :X
