Sorry to raise a dead topic, but some have talked about having DAoC running under Linux/WINE/Crossover.
I've Crossover on Ubuntu 12.04, works great with GW2, but REALLY want to get DAoC running. Using Ubuntu 12.04 64bit, nVidia 650 TI.. I followed what one person did, glsl = disabled. It runs now, but can't get catacombs char models or water effects working. If you do have any tips/ideas; would really appreciate it. |

just take classic models because catacombs models are ugly. Did you try the patched wined3d.dll from here: viewtopic.php?f=65&t=17654 ? |

In my experience in linux mint 13 and 14 (built on the same groundwork as ubuntu 12.04), disabling either vertex shaders, or pixel shaders will allow the game to work albeit with poor performance as the game resorts to what I believe to be a software rendering mode of sorts. I'm going to write a quick and dirty guide to how I got daoc and daocportal to work in linux with good performance and access to the late generation client models and terrain and trees and such. I'll post it in a new thread in this section of the forum here soon.
