People have explained in a very detailed way how things work, and you say determination and stoicism are USELESS XD. Man, please go out in emain with just purge 3 on any tank, you will see how it's nice for you, being cced most of the fight and your group dying cause there is no pressure, no rupts, no guard, slam or snare from any of your tanks xD. I can even understand you saying that maybe det5+purge 3 is alright, even if class has no stoicism, but say determination and stoicism are useless abilities xD...and yes, you can trust borog too, he never ever was in emain anyway, i seem to remember how he cried on forum that he's on the server for 2 years and it's IMPOSSIBLE to reach rr5.

He didnt get an real answer... He got an answer saying det3 is ******. That doesn´t mean that no det is the thing or det5 is what you should get... Most answers was just saying det3 is ******... Not what he should get. He asked what to get. He might have had a bad idea, but he asked for help and advice. Not flame. Not everyone is as 1337 as you...

In answer to this question, yes, I'm sure many have done it but I have not personally. As far as if it would work in RvR, well that is not an answer you can say definitively. Yes, against a very small minority of groups that may work. Against 90% of the groups in Emain you would run into, this would not work and a Warrior would be a much better switch out or even a Thane spec'd for both mele and shield. Its not the spells/dmg etc. that cause Thane to be overlooked, it is the lack of stoicism as Ivann said above. Not saying a thane can't do well in a group, but just not normally.

I can tell you from playing a BM that there is a HUGE difference between a player running Det 5 + Stoicism vs a class that just has Det 5. It is an issue that can change the outcome of a fight easily. Most good group fights last awhile. Hell, I've seen some fights where a BM was able to use Charge 2 twice and occasionally even 3 times in a fight. Thats 10-15 minutes. Now in that fight being stunned or rooted for an extra 10-30 sec is a HUGE problem. Especially if you are the gaurd bot. While you are mez'd or rooted that caster/healer you would be gaurding will be getting ripped up and be long gone by the time you come out. With Det 5 and Stoicism these same roots and mez's are more of just like 10 sec stuns. Yes, they also hurt, but not nearly as badly.
