Banned Harjis and associated accounts for robbing Comets account and deleting his chars.

i really wonder why some1 can get banned for acount theft?

if it was for hacking...fine, that's bannable...but theft implies, that he had the account data anyway....and the staff has often stated, that acc data shouldn't be given out and any damage done by this is own fault...so why did he give out acc data? and why can some1 be banned for using this acc data?

just asking questions...i don't say it's ok, i just wanna know how the staff's behaviour can be explained...

We don't encourage or support account sharing, correct. However, blatant community damaging behavior won't be tolerated. This is why you're not allowed to scam with impunity. If you're found in the wrong and you have premeditation or extraordinary malice, you can expect a swift and strong response.

By the way, while we're on the subject of theft: Attempting to launder money or items by trading them through a host of level 1s which you delete doesn't make it easy for you to 'get away'...it just means you probably go from a 30 day ban to a permaban that much quicker.

though i would, in terms of social understanding, agree, that comet should be restored, i hope, in terms of consistence and consequence, he is not...

why? because then every1 could come and say "omg omg i gave my acc to a friend and he has [insert something bad here]"...

Come on gimme a break, Comet should restored because he has been here for more than 5 years... THAT IS MORE THAN FIVE YEARS ! NOT ****** 2 MONTHS... Characters had been restored to much worse attitude players, I for one never saw Comet having a bad attitude or insulting people without reason and doing crap stuff. But this is uthgard, if you are friend of GM you got a decent life here, you can do whatever you like because you won't get touched. You can't just turn your head other way in this case, letting so old player with nothing. STOP acting like ****** virtual robots and act as humans, restoring his char is the best thing to do, that's not the worse deed ever done here on uthgard by GMS. I am not the only one here that knows GMs do favors to certain people and this is a fact even tho they don't admit it. So pull your heads out your asses and restore comet's character. its not big of a deal. yes i admit the fact you shouldn't share your account info, and he made a mistake here, but FFS stop being puppets and do what is right morally speaking

i can totally NOT confirm this...i would say that i'm rather "well known" to the GMs due to testing and constantly contributing to uth...however neither blue nor abydos wanted to rename my level 11 huntress!...no1 knew that huntress and level 11 is not a big deal to rename...it's not like the name was well known and i wanted to go incognito or something...i just found the name no longer fitting the character...

sure, that's only one case, but if staff don't do such minor favours, why should they do others? i only know one case where an actual favour was granted and it was not really renaming but only manually triggering server-mechanics, that would have triggered anyway...never heard of any other favour...from no1, not players, not staff..

I assume that was a problem at the very beginning of Uthgard, but nowadays and in the almost 3 years I play on Uthgard, nothing like that happend.

well that behauvior is really bad
even if i have tons of acc data of friends i would never ever rob their chars or even delete em. no matter what

i just try to understand why Harjis did this, for what reason?? and im aware that he had some help to transfer it over this multiple dummy chars.

It would be totally unfair to restore a deleted Character, just because he exists very long or is widely known in the community. Such things occur from time to time and noone else ever cared except the owner of the account.
If we restore one then we'd have a flood of people wanting to get Items/Chars back they lost due to acc-sharing.

And i agree, you guys should calm down before posting.

Look, it's human nature. People are easily corrupted. Fear, bribery or whatever...almost everyone has a price. I know for at least 2 cases where uthgard staff broke the rules in the worst possible way to help their buddies, but there's nothing we can do. Staff lacks common sense in many things, but I honestly don't care anymore. It's sad for Comet. As you've said, he's always cool, polite and never causes problems. I've talked to Harjis couple of times in game, and it was clear to me from the begining that I was communicating to mentally challenged person with no honor. I don't even know how Comet came to trust him anyway :S. This server is full of idiots who leech other people's accounts in one way or another. Example, that Nimmroth kid. He's constantly spamming all German players to give him his account info cause he is bored of one realm, so he wants to play another. He spammed me like few days ago how Harjis will soon quit the server and he will get his zerker xD. Dunno what kind of parents let a 13 year old kid play computer games all night long, but you can see the effect. I hope Comet gets his account back and learns the lesson, and I hope Harjis gets hit by a train. That being said, I will have some nice tea.

similar situation:
i bought a house to support all players in starter guild, filled chest nearly comple with all kind of 1h-weapons fron L5 - L20 and gave access to all members ClanCotswold. usage for free, they have been only asked to put back after grown out for next ones. project had run fine for around 2 weeks and got a lot of posivite response.

one day some guy took out everything out of the chest, it was complete empty.
asking staff for punishment the thief had been denied.
reason: if i give access, its MY BAD if items get lost.

i dont care about the loss of items, they had been donated anyway.
but if such "blatant community damaging behavior" is tolerated, the project
does not make a sense any more, because it could happen every day again.

so i terminated the project and sold the house,
no more support for beginners.
