Been playing Uthgard just fine for several weeks now. I have just run into a problem with logging into my main char. I get all the way to the character selection screen, hit play. However instead of the splashscreen with zone loading bar it just goes black and crashes out of DAOC.

I had been running this main char on this computer just fine 2 days ago.
I can create a NEW character and log in on this computer. No problems, works fine.

I can go to a completely different computer and log into the main character. No problems, works fine.

So any thoughts on why can I not log into the game for just one particular character on one particular machine

every time i have a problem with it crashing after the character screen, its because a custom UI setting had broken.

Set your UI to 'Atlantis' and see if it logs in; if it does, re-download and install another custom UI.

Thanks for those links. Very interesting read. Why the heck would a Client crash for lev 25 characters (which mine just hit before the problem!). Very weird ...like Uthgard's version of Puberty.

None the less mine was associated with Symantec endpoint protection's application control as described in the links. Although I also turned off the tablet PC input service as well.

In the end...I'm back!
