Hi everyone,
I am experiencing an annoying problem. I get freezes due to the animation of the Albion spirit resist and the port of Glasny/Visur etc... The game totally freezes. Under windows 7 I would have to cancel the game.dll in taskmanager. Now under Windows 8 even that isn't possible anymore. I can switch to task manager, where the game.dll is shown as inactive. I then can only sign off and relog DAoC. If I remember correctly, when I was still running Windows 7 I got an error message, saying the graphics card driver had crashed. This is really annoying and I wonder If anyone has any idea what the problem could be. I have reinstalled Windows apparently, reinstalled DAoC tried every sort of graphic card driver, also a BIOS update for the mainboard.. I was also wondering whether it is possible to delete or replace the file containing the animation in question. I am very grateful for any input on this. My computer spec is as follows AMD FX-6100, 6x3.3 GHz 16 GB DDR3-1333 (4x4GB, PC3-10600), Dual Channel AMD Radeon HD7750, 1024 MB GDDR5, PCI-E ASUS M5A78L LE, AMD 760G, Socket AM3+, ATX OCZ Agility 3 - SSD - 120 GB - SATA-600 1000 GB SATAII Festplatte 550 Watt LC6550 Silent, 12cm ATX-Midi V3next Xigmatek |

What softwear and drivers do you have running on that rig? This includes any and all aplications you are running at the same time as daoc.

Catalyst version 13.1
Driver version 9.012-121219a-152192C-ATI I usually run mirc besides DAoC, nothing else... |

so you have no steam, no sound drivers, no windows update, no anti virus running in the back ground?
The main cause of this glitch is sound drivers then followed by graphics drivers so make sure your sound drivers and fully UTD and if you still have the issue roll your gfx card drivers back to 12.8. |

Well I usually don't run Steam when playing DAoC. I run Kaspersky Anti Virus but this problem has occured before, when I ran another anti virus.
I also tried disabling all ingame sounds, so I doubt this is it. |

And this is only during this animation? Do you actually see the animation? Sounds to me like you have some corrupt files.

Very doubtful, since I have also had the problem after a clan installation and I just tried to copy the DAoC folder to my new ultrabook and the game is not crashing there. |
