Hello Everyone! I am Zarx from Divine Lords. Not Sure if you have seen me around, but I would like to introduce myself!

I am the Leader of the Divine Lords of the Albion side, and am wanting to run a server or Albion Event in the near future.

I want to host a Tournament, each team has 5-6 members. The winners in each block will get a prize, either from me, or the staff Utgarde.

What do you guys think? It would be cool to have an Arena made for this event as well so everyone can come and watch.

Edit: Basically a Guild vs Guild Tourney from all realms, or maybe Guild vs Guild just in Alb

Okay, then I am leaving out the staff of Utgard. I will be hosting a tournament in the near future, in which I will be giving out prizes. All of the guilds are welcome to attend.

Comments like these produce nothing but a bad taste in everyones mouth. I was trying to promote something productive. You should try being more positive in your life, you may actually like it.

actually it didn't produce any taste in my mouth, other than the sweet taste of amusement over this rather funny comment...

your opening post was just SO naive it was a pretty good invitation for comments like these...

I don't really get the intention of this thread...you announce "some tournament with some prices"...but you neither mention WHAT the tourney will be about, WHEN it will happen, and HOW it will be done...also the prices are not quite clear...

next time before making such a thread think about the actual information you need to provide before making a thread like "i'll do something, sometime with some prices"...

What kind of tournaments ? Did u speak of that with the staff ?

Anyway we still didn't hear what idea is that? How can you host a tournament with 6men groups on albion only?

Mods just do me a favor and delete this thread. Apparently there is to be no fun on this server. No player-ran events, no nothing. Moving on.

The idea, was to pick 6 members from each guild on the server (guilds that want to participate)

We would do a one on one duel, and the winner would progress. So we would have brackets. The winners of the tourney will get some really nice loot.

See, why you dont try to tell all these info in the opening post? Don't get alle those people wrong, but there were several people before that announced something that never happened. Find a date, define the whole concept, talk with gms if they would help you and so on ... and after all those work is done open a thread here in the forum stating all the important things:

- When will it be?
- Where will it take place?
- What exactely is the event about?
- Is there any reward?
- How will it be organized.

In addition add an nice written introduction text and people will be way more open for it

This forum critiquing is ridiculous. You guys understand the base of what I want to do. Use YOUR head to do some figuring out? I just put the idea up there, I am not ready to run it at the moment, which is the reason why I didnt go into long and glorious details.

As far as the other posts going bad, I want to follow up on this, and plan to.

Maybe I should've taken a closer look into your opening post, I'm sorry. For my part I would be interested in it if it will be nicely organized with a nice ruleset surrounding it. What I'd prefer tho would be to find a way to communicate with gms, so that there could be normal x vs x fights - even within the own realm (e.g. Alb vs Alb). 1vs1 is something that sucks hard in daoc as it's way too depended on class choice / RA's / rng

may seem a little arrogant, but gotta agree on that...IF if haven't done something, it is trolling...there's other ppl that are much better at that, then I am - I don't even see how my post could be taken as trolling...all I did was explain why such responses (see first thread-replies) happened and wanted to help out with the how and why, so he can avoid this...

@zarx: even if you don't have a real concept yet and only a rough idea...why bring it up here? I really don't get the intention of this thread..you want guilds to say "ok, we might participate but gotta wait for the actual how/what/where/price-answers..."? won't come...why should guilds bother answering such a thing two times...you want general player feedback? then make up the thread differently...ask like "would like to see an event such as xyz...or is there any1 else already doing such things? etc. etc."...you want particular players to say yes or no?...then make a poll or something.,..

what u did was throwing some pieces of information into a forum, without any1 knowing the whole issue and so ppl were like "wtf?"...and if many ppl are like "wtf" some ppl will actually post this...what happens then, can be seen here...

it's not the idea, that is bad or wrong, it's the way you addressed the community and you made up the thread that provoked rather destructive behaviour...
