Taking screenshots was the common practice to lag jump on Camlann (Euro PVP Server), in order to get on usually not reachable areas and cast down to wtfown em all :-)

Also it was used to jump on enemy DF stairs.

Then decided to window drag while entering/exit keep so even though they were in front of me, couldn't hit them as I they were too far away.

This wasn't normal server lag, this was unabashed window dragging. I reported it but got zero response from GMs.

I was in a trio and we were on our way from Glenlock to check Dodens, when we saw a Hib trio to our right(maybe 1500 units away). One of them teleported next to us in 1 sec, it was Coar, Coarb and some druid with them. Someone else complained to me about it that day as well, so there might be something to it :).

I hate to try and say that a person is intentionally lagging since lets be honest, it could be numerous issues at play that the person has zero control over. However, when you see this time and time again with the same players it does come with some suspicion. Coarb is one that I have also witnessed do this snap back and port all over the screen in combat but never seems to have it happen outside of combat. I've witnessed others as well. Alot of others have claimed Intimid was doing it, but I have probably watched 100+ fights of his and I've only seen him lag port maybe once or twice. Its just so hard to prove that a person is intentionally making themselves lag. How would a GM prove that they are doing this? How upset would you be if you got banned because you had a ****** internet connection?

Exactly, it's very hard to prove and it's not fair to ban players based on a suspicion. However, if same few people do it all the time and so on, something should be done. Like you said, they are not lagging when running, then they suddenly teleport right next to you. I mean, this is Daoc...not Dragonball Z.

If its same person doing it, maybe its because, like you all have said, he has a ****** connection or a ****** computer?

Yah, but as Ivann said, part of it is when they do it. Some of these people I see doing it only when it seems to benefit them like at incoming yet never seem to lag otherwise. That is very suspicious looking.

About 1.5 years ago American Cable users for internet had a problem on this server where we were routed through Paris and there was always packet loss and lag caused there. During this time it was not uncommon for a person to fight me then log over to Hib and ask if I was cheating by window dragging. It didnt happen often, but every once in awhile I would port on their screen.

I guess what I'm saying is that this is a very hard policy to enforce as it is almost impossible to prove.

does a screeshot also create a lag?

With a bad computer or HDD yes it does..

you can see if you actually turned fast enough while he was stunned or had instant dded the rm you could have easily killed the sham.
you chose a hopeless fight and arguably played incorrectly.
