Hi folks, hi staff,

I know it IS the wrong forum, but posting it in the general forums would be also wrong...so...;)

Just wanted to remind you not to easily close topics so fast if there is any flaming in there. Look at the "keep door" topic. The discussion was a useful one, and only two people were flaming and continuing personal vendettas. Despite of that, the topic was closed...

Just keep in mind that Gaius for example, who had started the topic, now got his topic closed without any answer... And he did nothing wrong. So did the other people posting in the topic.

Do not get me wrong, i am not blaming or attacking you, i can imagine that it is annoying to have flame topics all over the place. But then, find a solution with the flaming players and not in the closing of the topic.

Closing topics because of flame only hurts the not flaming part of the community.

Just my two cents - hope you do not get me wrong. :)

Agree. It would have been better do just delete flame-including postings.
However, Im sorry that I partially trapped into Gerbalds flame-bait.

actually...everyone was posting useful comments, til one certain person decided that he needed some more attention and started posting some offtopic BS once again (always thought, lawyers should now how to argue  ).

i would suggest to delete flames (and if the flames wont stop just warn and then temp-ban the ppl...remove the flame and put a friendly "warning #1", "warning#2", "temp-ban granted" into those posts ).
due to flaming every 2nd important topic gets closed after 1-2 pages of discussion...those warnings and following tempbans would allow ppl who are interested into that topic to discuss, and keep flamers away (at least for the duration of the temp ban).

I think that you are right Kronos.
I personally would suggest that in this forum some people can't handle
provocations.

Player like Sethor know exactly how to provoke people, in order to show
them what kind of mistake they might have made.
This makes most of them express themselves in an inadequate way.
And this is where the trouble/flaming starts.
If these people express themselves that way no one will have a look at WHAT
they say but simply of HOW they say it and the contribution's effective-
ness will simply fade to zero. According to what was said before most of the
users will now reply on what was just said, and as i said the formal tone
is now no longer existent.

To talk a little more concrete:
Sethor: All of us know the sublety you argue with. I know that critizising
and provoking is constructive but please try to express yourself in a way
that does not lead the others to flame about what was just said. In that case
your provoking will become destructive.

And finally Gerbald: I'd advise Gerbald not to reply on such provocations
in an informal way. Try to work together with your argumentations and
form a synthesis. Act your age and show your qualifications instead of
just talking about them.

But let me say one thing Kronos - Sometimes flaming can't be avoided.
To show that ppl have different opinions is necessary. Even if this is the only
thing to say about that specific topic :)

Think about it.

I have reopened and cleaned the thread.
Enemy: Who are you?
Attroind: Someone who's not supposed to be alive.
