Hello folks, I've been a long time DAOC player but this is my first time traveling to Uthgard.

No setup questions, I've gotten everything rolling :)

Thanks to some helpful individuals I've had a lot of my questions about Uthgard answered already, but here goes a few more:

1) As someone who ultimately wants to 8v8, are there any like minded guilds out there that could use another player? In my dreams I'd find a guild that wanted to 8v8 at several set times a week, sometime in the PST evening (during the week at least).
I haven't decided on what class yet, most of my experience lies with the Shaman and the Berserker. I'm willing to play most classes.

2) I'm not totally sure I understand the state of the classes. I did look at the list that showed differences between live and Uthgard, and what I gather is that most classes do not have the style overhaul. But as an example, would a berserker be using pre-LA nerf numbers or live LA numbers but without live styles?

2a) If its the former, is it just old school double frost spam? If its the latter, does anyone use LA or gravitate towards 2handed?

3) Does the frontier experience bonus also apply in BGs? Any helpful leveling tips?

4) How do Savages fair? I dislike the lack of Charge, but in a melee heavy environment (as I hear from resist rates) their defenses could be quite useful.

5) Any other tips and tidbits you want to include :)

I'm headed to bed shortly, I hope to hear from lots of you by morning!

2/ It was not a nerf, but a fix on style damage calculation :D And target version 1.69 is obviously after this fix.
Anyway, LA style still have huge growth rate, it deals more than 2 hand. And since the only way to go through a shield is by using dual weapon, LA is the way to go.
And you're right, the whole style revision is not on Uthgard. Every line has different set-up of style.

3/ No bonus on xp in BG. Tips to level : DF, RvR dungeon, frontiers zones give bonus to xp. But a nice spot with camp bonus can make u cap on every mob. And since mobe before lvl 30 don't hit as hard as they should, xp is not as hard as it was on the old days on live.

For the other point, i don't know :D

Savage is fine, but H2H weapons are not counted as DW,but as single weapon. It causes problems with defense penetration vs shield wielders/guarded target and i think they are not much popular here on Uthgard.

2) Make sure you spec hammer as second weapon line to get the back snare.
4) No, savages are not hugely popular. They can be a pain, but generally zerker is the way to go because of charge 3 (which is pretty OP on a server without bodyguard).

Thanks for the replies folks. I've made it to 9, only because someone walked up and gave me a 12ish sword in the starting area. Pretty much everything else is grey because nothing drops gear and I can't spend the little I have on it. Oh well :/
