what exactly is your point? i really dont get it o_O...u dont like zerg? want more emain action? wanna flame anti-zergers? wtf? why do ppl keep writing so weird stuff, no1 ever understands? Genuine Spirit Cabalist since 2002

theres a difference between mass fights and zerg, zerg is when 1 side outnumbers the rest and kill all of them (and usually keep doing it until they log), mass fights is when theres similar numbers on all sides, or im wrong? It's the thrill of the chase
and I'm coming after you. |

+1 tecnically There was a time when Uthgard 1.0 existed and maaaany toons and arrpees arose... but now:

Considering you can sometimes see a solo stealther/visibel QQ about being "zerged" by 2+ people. I think it's safe to say "zerg" is when you outnumber by x2 or more, and equal (fairly equal) fights are just mass fights (or RvR as many like to call it

1-2-3% rp bonus for keep defence is a "ridicolous" incentive, as far as i saw/heard these days

it seems pvp population lost is motivation around keeps in 1 week ^^
Few keeps are now claim.... I dont understand much ^^ VINTERSORG on Mid = Durack/Morbac/Krakar/Thjork/Fripouille/Verole/Lumna
NoStressFr on Alb = Uclain/Tarras unguilded on Hib = Lyantel |

If we zerg for keeps on Hibernia we try to claim. Can't say the same for Albion or Midgard. ![]() [3:10pm] <myrmidon^> You have to be a c*** to be awesome at daoc
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> that's what I learnt [3:11pm] <Frosty_> then why does austerim suck

I think we should really try to impress this on the community - if you want RvR to continue to flourish (in a random zerg sort of way), claim your keeps... It doesn't cost much, I am sure most guilds have enough BP to claim a keep and upgrade to level 4. Do this, and you will continue to have action across all zones. Don't, and people will eventually get bored becuase it is simply not worth to raid unclaimed keeps, other then to hopefully attract defenders (unlikely).

Claiming a Keep at lvl1 costs the same as claiming it at lvl4

While I agree that this will get people out to raid keeps, it does result in a problem, which is that the rp gained is the same no matter how many you bring. So 5 fg's gets the same per person as 1 fg. Not a problem if the other realm can muster a defence, but is a problem when one realm rolls out 3 fg's outside prime-time, and then PvE's their way through your frontier. This doesn't result in RvR, it's just as boring, or even more, than grd tasking (for the other realms). Before when zergs rolled out, the system made sure that eventually the raid would dissolve when you had no enemies to fight, and eventually the other realms could fight a manageable force. Now the zerg doesn't need enemies to fight, they can just keep taking keeps (till none are left), and in fact it now pays of to log your X realm, and join the realm with the keep taking zerg, because it means taking keeps even faster! The other night you had two choices in my realm, fight nothing, or fight 3 fg's with your 1 fg. Yeah QQ... but it was really kinda sad. Especially since the 3 fg's having nothing to fight, didn't hinder them at all, it just meant easier rp's. And the first realm to build a keep taking zerg, with aoe to wreck havoc, will really dominate, because the other realms will get rolled over, while the zerg just gets bigger and bigger. I hold no solution, and am in general happy about the change, as I disliked the "task to RR10" mentality, but not sure it's been removed, just replaced with another "task to RR10" element. I have to agree with this part at least. All the changes have done is remove the solo based PVE to RR11 on keep guards and introduced a group based PVE to RR11 on keep lords... ![]() One thing is for sure though, is that the Albs have had the kick up the ass they needed ![]() |

Uthgard community is weird all you can say to it. Then stick to your emain and die to bordom. You could have made lots of RP with your RR3-5 alts you have since years but yes complaining is easier. Next week you complain about RR11 running in emain so you have no chance. ![]() At least I had some epic battles the last week. ![]() <<< This avatar is handmade by Inotor Wurzelbert : ) Check out the Mampfer-Threads for more. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=25079 viewtopic.php?f=10&t=26934 |

i don't mind the RVR side as it has revitalized it. To be sure it has also seemed to force the 8v8 community into massing together, which is the way DOAC should be played. None of this 1v1 at AMG, queuing up waiting for your turn to fight with your resbot standing by.
Why bother mentioning my characters? Is there something in my signature that forces you to comment on the fact that there are more than 1 listed? Or do you just feel like attacking my play style because i don't just play a 1v1 character? Stick to posting about the OP. |

Yeah maybe, but the keep take is a part of the game and have some sense instead of leave open keeps a move around killing guards with no sense =) Still that defend a keep, or have it claimed is >> Useless << no bonus to the guild, quite indifferent for the realm.. that's why there are only few claimed keeps. Give +5% exp/money/bps bonus for every level of the keep and you will see more keep claimed and more ppl defending them and even more higher than lvl 4 ^^, And btw who want do 8vs8 can do when he want, as usual =) There was a time when Uthgard 1.0 existed and maaaany toons and arrpees arose... but now:

Or just realize that if your realm claims keeps, the other realms might do that too and everybody wins. But realistically, the best option, as you say, would be to put in more incentives to claim keeps. Tying them to the relic guard status was one thing mentioned and on the To-Do list, I believe. No clue how long it will take tho. So in the meantime, please claim your keeps, or people will stop running keep groups -> no RvR.
