Hi everyone,
I am having trouble with my latency, I know for a fact its my ISP, I was wondering if anyone knows the I.P address for the server so I could run a traceroute to send to them. Thanks. Damone/Fireal/Aseili/Sanasas

The server does go wonky at certain times, for me though its usually EST morning-12pm. I believe it only affects non-Euro players but may be wrong, often see players talking about it in broadcast.
The lag tends to clear in anything from 15min to few hours. |

As you can see from the tracert. It has nothing to do with Uthgard server but with some issues with your provider

For my wife and I in New Jersey it's usually around 11pm EST every night we start getting drops. Lately however it has been non stop morning day or evening we are getting chain dropped. Pretty frustrating. Not much of a tech here but just joining in on the rant hehe

For all of you using Virgin media (my provider when I lived in the UK), they have a "fair use" policy. There are traffic limits twice a day (9 am - 3 pm and 4 pm - 10 pm iirc) that are enforced via a throttle on their side. If you pass those traffic limits, all of your traffic (outgoing and incoming) will be throttled to next-to-nothing and will be considered low-priority for the following 6 hours. On the "little" 10 MBit/s package, which I used to have, it's something silly like 1.5 GB for each 6h period, but the exact amounts depend on the broadband package you're paying for.
I remember a long and heated argument with some clueless person over the phone that only ended because I ran out of credit. You have two solutions: Either upgrade your broadband package (and ask them about the exact traffic that's covered by "fair use") or do not stream/download stuff in those 2 periods. Yes, Virgin are bastards. |

I got 30 mb broadband and i pay 30pounds for it, and i cant play anything late night..not to mention that my speed drops to around 6 mb late night. http://help.virginmedia.com/system/self ... D=2781#L30 Last edited by MotaroReloaded on Oct 29, 2012 21:38, edited 1 time in total.

Yeah, the only broadband pack that does NOT have those timed "prime time" limitations is the top tier (usually 50 MBit/s depending on where in the UK you are, i.e. the distance from the nearest hub). At least that's what was explained to me back when I was in Bristol. I hope that helps! |
