He just had to drop FA3, ip2, sos and purge to kill a cutie rr5ish with 10% lifebar left. Easy job :D

Please get of your high horse and look at minstrels in general.

Minstrels can get rp's pretty easy, but not in the conventional (read: socially accepted) way most other classes can.
Minstrels are not sought out for alb groups, and add to this that there's very few groups running.

Minstrel stealth means they're easy victims of PA/Viper, or CritShot, while they have the tools to win, it's not ease-mode.

Minstrels are not ranking high on weekly rp's, and I don't think this is because it's an ease-mode class, and so people avoid playing them to get a bigger challenge, I suspect it's because it's a hard class to play (yeah, I'm naive).

I see people flaming here who stealth zerg, have camped horse-routes or who enjoy a nice 3 on 1 group action, and yet fly up when someone kills a lvl 37 who ventured in to a RvR zone, and believe me, the 37 has a better chance vs. a RR11 minstrel, than a solo caster moving through AMG on Prime-time...

Oh well, positive that this thread brings back fond memories of VN boards, ahh... DaoC memories :)

It's easy cuz you're pretty damn fast at the keeps! Tbh. I can't imagine him playing his minstrel decently. I mean even on rm the only thing he did was f8-nuking ... so cmon.

However still congratulations for rr11.

you can overwhelm a RM with a mincer very easy. you got stun/mezz/SoS/Stealth/ip/purge. really ? is it really that hard ? but then ofc its Fulla playing so no wonder he can't press some buttons. anyway i wont bother no more writing here to bucketheads which support noobs. goodbye

I don't understand... you say he wasted the RA's on the rm'er, and yet you imply here that it's tools he can use to kill him???

Anyway... doesn't it depend highly on situation?
RM casts NS, minstrel loses speed, and rm can nuke/snare his heart out... seriously, with red NS the minstrel wouldn't make it to the RM before he's dead... unless... he used SoS!
Now minstrel reaches rm, stun gets resisted, but minstrel can still wack away, but then RM qc's root, and runs, minstrel purges! (2 RA's "wasted" now).
RM'er uses MoC or Concentration to QC a snare... minstrel flute mezzes, rm'er purges!

blah blah... in the end, a high RR rm'er you don't land a perf on can be quite hard, unless of course you are gifted with divine (hehe) powers like some of you.

Besides, if you want to play an ease-mode char, try playing a solo warrior, which because he's solo no one is allowed to add on. Shield slam, two-hander without needing to spec for it, purge, det, ip, testudo, etc... how the hell could you ever lose a 1on1 on such a class?
I'm sorry, but just because something looks good on paper, doesn't mean it is good.

Instead of sos, just use purge, then u can start rupting with shouts/mezz untill u reach him. if he gets a root of and starts kiting minst can just stealth or keep rupting with the mezz since u purged the NS. And because of inferior speed the rm cant get away anyway.

That is 1 RA u need, job done, nothing the rm can do.
Minst can even avoid getting NS if he is quick in stealthing. Just stealth when u see the rm start casting...
Or the minst could get a pet to rupt the rm...

As u see it actualy should be easy for the minst to kill a rm without using all of his active RAs

Yes, but in this you imply not making a mistake, and lord knows we all do...

It's like when people watch football, and yell: "He's free, dammit play the ball to him!!! omg you fecking clown!!!"
It's so much easier writing how to do things, than when you are in the situation and perform flawless.

Yes, this is what I'd do, no need for RA's.

You shouldnt blame him for dumping his RA's on this rm. He was clearly confused. How should he know that runemasters can nearsight or root/snare? :D
