Hello all! After a 6 year hiatus, I am coming back to DAoC because I just plain miss it and Uthgard seems to be the place for me as I miss the old days. I have a few questions before I start playing and I want to thank you all in advance for taking the time to answer. SO...thank you!

Ok here goes;

1. I don't remember what patch it was that thanes received style procs. My question is, are thanes the old school thanes? Or do they have their style procs that finally made them competitive? (I will probably still make one as I love the lore and play style of the class)

2. Do the SM pets still have a chance to intercept damage like they did on live? Is darkness a good/viable spec on this server for rvr?

3. Is there a decent site that has all the class info to help make templates? ( i don't remember the popular one that everyone used back in the day)

4. Is warrior damage/dps good on this server?

5. Last but certainly not least....I am confused about the rules governing the use of the buffing classes. Can I or can I NOT tow a shammy/healer around with me to help in the leveling process with heals and buffs? I also want to level a good support class like a healer and shammy but dont want to get banned for "botting". I dont see why there would be a problem with me doing this as long AS I actively use my healer or shammy to heal myself during the leveling grind. I have 2 computers and was planning on using one for the healer and shammy and level them along with my DPS classes.


Anyway those are the questions and thanks in advance (again) for your time.

1. No, thats well beyond our patch level.

2. Yes, SM pets intercept like crazy like before savage nerfs. Darkness is common in RvR, but you dont see too many SMs since their pets didnt always keep up on sprint (now they do)

5. Dual-logging is completely prohibited, but another physical person can play another character out of group and buff you. (not sure i f seperate IP's are required)

Well I plan on having my son and daughter play with me. Are you saying they have to be out of group to buff and heal me? Or can my kids play grouped with me? As far as IPs go, I have a wireless router that my laptop connects to and my kids will be using the laptop. I will be using my desktop machine which is hard lined into the router itself. So they should have seperate IPs. At least the IPs that the router assigns them.

Also, thank you so much for the character builder link. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to my post. I think I will email a blue from this forum and get the answer from them.

well if you get noticed from a gm they will first watch you stealthed. than if they decide to test you, you will get portet to a secret place where you have to jump and run and do some testing to veryfy you are 3 individual persons.

so if one of you is afk longer than lets say 5mins better log off as its nondistinctive if he/she's dual logging or not -> BAN

Lol it will be funny to see my 7 year old think he is in trouble for playing a shammy. It is inevitable then. They will be on auto follow when I go run around camp to camp to farm for money and exp. I wonder what kind of tests they do.

at least it does not matter if they are in your grp or not. But as soon as they buffed you and are afk for a longer period they should log out... else it is buffboting and the ban forum is atm full of bans for this.

The usual test is to run an 8 with all chars at the same time.

really? I guess with a wireless mouse and keyboard and 2 receivers with the same frequency this should be doable ...not that I have any of these, but still...

You will get caught. Buffbotting is strictly forbidden here. Dual logging in general is strictly forbidden. For isntance, if you have a toon in Darkness falls and one toon in Breifine farming mobs - this is forbidden. Yes, it is possible for them to know The reason for all this is to initiate GROUP GAME PLAY. Having a healer / shammy follow you around screws us other Healers & Shammies out of XP

If your 7 year old is able to actively play the character he won't face any trouble during the bb/duallog test.
