Hey everyone, I'm getting ready to roll on Uthgard and I know the realm and character I'm rolling with....I am just curious how often the keeps and relics change hands. Does one realm stay in control most of the time or is it pretty constant on changing week by week and such?

Relics changing every few weeks mostly between Midgard & Hibernia, Albion doesn´t seem to be interested in holding any relics.
Maybe you need to get used to all the kids changing their realm when relics are moved.

Albs have difficulty for some reason to bring out the numbers - last time we ALMOST got a relic, but dont worry, we will be back.

Guess we albs also need to work on our alb QQ attitude, being better at actually following lead and not having half the BG giving up after one try =). And hey, Im an alb, but I also realize what weaknesses we need to focus on improving =)!!

Well like I said I have already decided my character and realm to play in and I am playing in Albion. Nice to know there are some people playing Alb that look forward to things getting better for our side :P

I feel that Alb will be back to proper form at some point. I have been on this server for a lil over 2.5 years, and for the first 1.5 years on this server it was Albion that had the most players and could put together the biggest zergs. Hibernia would take the relics and hold em for a week or 2 then Albion would come with a 100+ people in a BG and just take them back no problem. I think over time alot of those leaders that did these raids either moved on to other games or other realms. For about the last year Albion has been lacking in the "zerg" department. Its a cycle like anything else in life. The Albs had the #'s for a long time then Hibernia kind of took over that roll. Hibs' were the lone big realm for awhile and now Mids seem to be taking over that role. After people get tired of zerging and owning everything on Mid I'm sure they will roll back over to Albion.

I wasnt referring to the population of frontiers, I was just referring to the relics and realms that actively try and go for relic raids. For frontier population I would say right now (American primetime) it is about as even as I have seen it in a long time. There is usually a decent representation from all 3 realms out. Midgard prolly has the overall most #'s but Albion has been putting out some decent groups and even Hibernia has been doing some good small man and 8 man action.

I do not think that anyone has actually FULLY answered our newcomer's question or main concern:
Alegos wrote:I am just curious how often the keeps and relics change hands
Well, the answer is: little often. Relic and keep attacking/defending (in other words, the siege gameplay) is visibly NOT the main preference in Uthgard. The favorite RvR game is, in my view, obviously the open field skirmishing, so the keeps/relics tend to stay rather long periods of time with the realm that takes them. In the Old Frontiers area there are notorious choking points on the map and everyone just usually hang around these places (the milegates) because people necessarily need to pass by them in order to go anywhere.

Not only for this reason, the main RvR happens away from keeps/relics also because the actual shape/layout/form of the keeps in Old Frontiers is little interesting. There is little in the structures of the keeps in OF that can be used as actual part of the gameplay (which the siege game is all about, dealing with the structures and using them appropriately).

So, in short words, no, the keeps and relics do not change hands any often, instead of few large battlegroups of dozens of people in search of RvR at keeps we rather have many small groups of 8 people acting individually in search of PvP at milegates.

Aside from that, the relics tend to stay for over a week with either Hib or Mid, while Alb rarely has any, as others already said.

Anyway, nothing will never change here, Keep take is boring, only some ppl that want pve in df go take a keep, or talker that just open a keep for kill guards and move to others keep. In emain, you have the high rr group, and the pugs, that not really have a chance, so build a zerg, zerg the high rr fg, the fg log, nothing anymore to zerg, its like this for very long time, and it will never change since the staff is busy to others thing than actually improve the interest of keep take or the actual rvr.
