Is there a live and thriving 8v8 population on Uthgard?
We have an 8man from live that is tired of toa and zergs, and would be interested in giving Uthgard a shot. We would be playing 8pm-11pm EST, though maybe Uthgard's primetime is more based on Euro timezones? Basically we want to give it a shot, but don't want to grind through the pve if there isn't going to be some kind of 8v8 during our play time... Thoughts? Thanks! -xps |

Yes, there is some good 8v8 guild like drachengard or blutrausch
2012:<@[Uth]Abydos> If we don't have SI by the end of the year, Im fairly certain I wont be a GM anymore :-p

p.s. - and if there is 8v8, do they respect other 8v8 fights, or is it pretty much a free for all/"red it's dead" mentality?

Some groups do, some groups don't.
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> You have to be a c*** to be awesome at daoc
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> that's what I learnt [3:11pm] <Frosty_> then why does austerim suck

Most of Uthgards RvR-action is 8v8 based. Eu is the primetime.
A lot of grps keep it fair and won't add into running 8v8 fights. But there's also a lot of grps that dont care at all and jump on everything that moves (even some of better ones) ![]() |

BEST POST EVER! made my day alanya ^^ |

Nearly all the active 8v8 grps/guilds are european, playing between 8-11pm CET, most of the hib/alb grps respect fights and won't add them, but mid grps usually follow red=dead

Sign doesn't! Oh wait, Sign is dead ![]() |

oof. so i guess it's pretty dead by the time US primetime comes around, huh?
![]() thanks for the posts/info. =) |

Pretty much. I play US times ( @ 8 pm est - 12 pm est) and the average is 150-200 people total between all 3 realms. Out of those, maybe 15-20 total (my estimate.. others my have a different opinion) are in lvl 50 rvr somwhere

Thanks. While unfortunate, it *is* the info I was after. =) |

i try to bring mids out when i can at american night time. so we can provide you with some entertainment.
i'm about nightly around then. theres some good action because some mids left for alb / hib to make groups to atleast have people to fight. |

Yes, exacly as it was supposed to be. Maybe it would be exaggerating when it comes to grey cons, true, but the rule of thumb is basically "red=dead", yes. That is the whole reason of having different and everconflicting factions. Realm mates are not a secondary kind of adversary with which you compete for the chance of competing with a primary kind of adversary, that is not DAoC. Come on... how can we expect someone to log into the game and then just NOT do what the game is all about: disputing with common adversaries? Xps609, first of all, wellcome. I will try to answer your question, but you will see that I have the subtlety of a spooked flock of herd, but nothing sour intended. Since you are not very excited bout ginding all the way to 50 anyway and you will only make grow the "no add pls" that makes Uthgard go tasteless at times, then you might try the instant 50 servers. I REALLY do mean that you are actually more likely to find a better experience in instant 50s ![]() Otherwise, welcome just the same. |

You are one of the craziest persons I've ever talked to, but I like your sense of humor xD. "He was concerned only with the naked fundamentals of life. The warm intimacies of small, kindly things, the sentiments and delicious trivialities that make up so much of civilized men's lives were meaningless to him. A wolf was no less a wolf because a whim of chance caused him to run with the watch-dogs. Bloodshed and violence and savagery were the natural elements of the life Conan knew; he could not, and would never, understand the little things that are so dear to civilized men and women." |
