i honestly can't understand why there is so much complaining here
what does someones nationality have to do with the purpose of this project ?

most important is,that the player is liked and trusted by the community,
and is someone who is willing to take his time communicating with the people in game... point

the first 2 are germans maybe the next 2 are non germans so maybe calm down a bit and give Luydor a chance to set the thing up and complain then if nessassary ?

I'm still waiting to see the American Timezone have a rep for Mid. I will not beat a dead horse about holsten and rector, but clearly alot of points have been made. Ignore them if you will, fail if you will. The council will fail if done so.

And so I shall ask, Who is going to be the rep for Mid's late night American Timezones? I've just read all 10 pages of useless crap in this thread, and it's Holsten this and Rector that. Well thats all fine and dandy... except they really dont play when say.. the RP bonus is in effect. How exactly are you going to have any sort of idea what people at this time frame think, when none of them play this time frame.

Well if you read the pages, why you still see the player as representer. The concept of the council is different to the form the council the most think off.

As you maybe saw, in the news I wrote it should be a mix between the gaming style and alb hib mid and timezones.
For me it would be ok if that means 8x hib 1 mid 1 alb 1 us timezone.
To explain it with 8vs8. If we have a 8vs8 RvR problem. Does it matter from which realm the 8vs8 player come from? A little bit, but not much. The most things are the same and every member of the council should be neutral enough to understand the problems of the other realms. Hib have is a little different here, because of the main zone emain. Thats way I look a little bit that every gaming style realm and timezone is involved but the numbers doesn't really matter.
Anyway I try to get 3 3 3 and 2. I guess their will be at least 2 or 3 US members, maybe some more.

Btw: I some play in US Primetime and are in ts with them and had 2 US Members in my guild. So I guess I already see some of the problems of the US Members myself.

Let me point out that Abydos plays in the middle of US time and is quite aware of the problems.

I am aware that we do have abydos as an american player. and we are thrilled to have him for such, but for this Council who is going to represent us? I am not looking at staff for this Blue, you guys have enough on your plate.

But you can be absolutely sure that Abydos already cares about the US population. He is the one who is responsible for 2min ports in low population hours and also initiated the introduction of the 25% RP bonus. You should not get the impression we don't know what happens in US timezone. A position in the staff has even more weight as the position in the player council. The council will act as counselor for the staff.

not at all blue, dont get me wrong, i am just saying we would like somebody to speak on our behalf aswell as just euro primetime players. and the players -- *magically* picked are not around during our time. so if they are not around, how can they speak on our behalf? -- thats all i am saying.

So i guess we need any american to suggest people for this job since europeans don't care/ don't know american players.

Wow, this topic was some fun reading. I understand the frustrations of several people on here. I believe this was more of a presentation problem as well as a problem with some reading comprehension.

@ Luydor- I love your idea. I think this is great and will only help the community foster more clear communication with the GM's. In saying that, I do agree that we need to make sure we have a diverse set of players that can have broad focus rather then just the problems of a select few. I'm sure you will accomplish this. When reading your original post it also seemed odd to me that you were taking nominations for the council, then announced right after that you had allready chosen 2. I can see why some were a bit suspicious about it. I will say that I like Holsten and Rector on the council since they have been here for a long time and I feel both can be open minded about this, but I also understand some of the fears of having 2 (3 if you count yourself) with very similiar viewpoints, playstyles, and backgrounds.

@ Everyone upset about the way this is handled- Seriously, calm down. Luydor pushed for this, he's the one that got it approved, and I see zero way in which this can be a bad thing. You can't expect Luydor to have every single persons opinions on this. The job of this "council" is to talk to the players (new, old, solo, zerg, 8 vs 8, small man, etc..) and get an idea of how the community is feeling about the direction of the server. Some of these ideas GM's will listen to, others not so much. All in all I think this will be a good thing.

If you ever want to get a solo stealthers perspective on the server just let me know council

he plays Late night american time, loves to PvE and he enjoys PvP! He tries to help anyone that needs it, and is an all around nice guy. he has 10 chars all lvl 50 - and crafts almost anything!
