I've read multiple posts regarding the same issue I'm having, and I apologize for yet another post on this topic, but I've tried everything suggested & still can't connect to Uthgard. The issue is when I'm on the Portal launcher and I need to browse for my DAoC installation ("DAoC installation not valid" error).
I've followed all the instructions regarding downloading the client and replacing the game.dll (downloaded client off Uthgard download page, the DAOC Portal I have is v2.7 the most current and only one I can seem to DL, replaced game.dll from http://www.mediafire.com/?kqo1gmf055exp6z) I've tried copying and pasting all the contents in my DAoC installation folder into a new folder named "Camelot", so the path would be C:\Camelot rather than C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Dark Age of Camelot I installed .net4.0 I dunno what else to do. I guess I could try and install my CDs but I'm missing a couple expansions so I'll have to browse for them ![]() |

Install .NET 3.5.1 too.
I'm sure Akip had the solution to your problem. Have to search for it. viewtopic.php?f=15&t=26746&start=15 It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

ok lets start again,
we go through step by step http://pastebin.com/Rr1gLSQx check if you done it like that -> solutions: istallation is not valid: can you skip that point? yes/no? if not deinstall daoc portal and delete all folders of it install .net4.0 if windows7/vista if xp stick to .net2.0 reinstall daoc portal its important that you have .net installed before you install portal alternativly we can make a date for teamviewer and i will take a look ![]() |

mmk I'll try .net2.0...I was told to DL 4.0, then I tried 3.5.1. Should I uninstall those and reinstall 2.0? or is there no need to uninstall?

no all versions of DotNet are backwards compatible, so 4 should cover all previous versions.
What error are you recieving specifically? i dont recall seeing it posted. NVM i was speed reading and skipped it ![]() i may have a copy of portal 2.6 if that is any use, ill have a look. Other than that, DotNet4, run portal as admin, etc etc. Last edited by borog on Jun 26, 2012 17:53, edited 1 time in total.

did you download the game.dll marc?
google for 1.109 game.dll and replace your game.dll with it ![]() |

So how do I run portal as admin? I read to right click the .exe file and it should be right there, but I don't see it. I run XP btw. All I see is "Run as..." I click on that, then a window pop up appears that says "Which user do you want to use to run this program?" then it has two bullets I can choose from "Current user" and "The following user" then it prompts for a user name/pw.

Ya I've downloaded v. 1.109 (as linked in various forums here) and I also tried the 1.95 client and neither work. And evidently I had .net 2.0 already lol. I have 2.0, 3.0, 3.5.1, 4.0 now...

for xp you only need .net2.0 not the others
also you don't need to run it as administrator than. ![]() |

Ya I've done everything as suggested so I really don't have any clue as to what the problem is or how to solve it. All I know is it never used to be this hard to connect, it's all because of this new client. The one from daoc.goa worked fine
