Well, like I said you talk about what you believe not about something you know, that why Im complaining about your complaining
![]() As I said, I know the way the first council is founded is not that democratic it could be, but for a first try without knowing if maybe the work of the council is going to last longer then a week, I won't try to organize a vote that would be much work. Maybe when we see the council will get more and more important and some people tell me they don't like the members which represent their realm. But till then it will be a a long way. |
|
I think the council should be split up in different categories, there are no people on hibernia that are part of all the communities at once (8v8,smallmen,soloers,pve,zerg,keep raiding/casuals)
I would really like to represent the 8v8 aswell as the smallmen and solo community. Simply because i have a lot of experience and am in touch with nearly all of the rvr active hibs.I have to admit that I'm not that much aware about the pve community, but I know all the pve content on hibernia (except tajendi) |
|
Ok, really, this is useless. So I stop here.
For the last time: I'm not complaining, i think this council thing could be a good idea if the whole community play it well and is involved in it. My opinion (and since we are on a public forum talking about a community topic and now you are my representative, you should read it and take care of it and not just tag it like QQ) is that if you do it now in the wrong way because you don't know if it will work, it simply won't. Have fun. ![]() |

I don't get why people judge things of which they have no clue what they might bring for the future, even if the council does not help much at all, it is definitely worth a try to improve the server. Doing nothing won't bring changes.

Again?! What's wrong with you guys? I wrote that this council could be a good thing a it deserve all the best efforts since the beginning in nearly every post of mine! I'm not judging something or someone, I'm just giving my opinion in a constructive and polite manner, explaining my points, as every other player can and should do. If you can't see the difference, you won't do a great work in that council my friend. We are talking about something that should involve all the community, what do you expect? Just "love", "yuhuuu" and "yeah, that's the best way to do this" opinion? Come on! ![]() |

No nice fighter councils please. Thanks for your attention.

How were Rector and Holsten chosen? I am not saying they don't deserve the spots, no one can say Holsten doesn't deserve every bit of accolade and accomplishment he has earned. Same with Rector. I just want to know the process. Exactly how big are their alliances on Midgard? Are they both European? I am pretty sure my alliance on Midgard rivals all of their alliances. I have the largest American alliance that I know of. My alliance has been going strong for over 2 years. Or wait...I dont support the staff enough to be invited into this illustrious council. Good luck with it. I hope it works out well for Uthgard.

Mh you think a good team need people that come when the work is done? We could need some albs, somehow I have some problem to find some.
So why you don't write me a pm that you think you would be good for that or have a member in your alliance for that. I just said that I have two persons from Midgard. The estimated balance should be around 12 Members 3 mid 3 albs 3 hibs 2 special ( Us/other timezone ) 1 organizer for example. Process for Holsten Zerglead (++) Zerg (++) 8vs8 (++) Smallgroup (+) Solo (--) Casaul (+) Guildleader (++) Allianceleader (++) Liked by nearly everybody (++) Plays sometimes US PT (+) can be neutral (++) Process for Rector Zerglead (+) Zerg (++) 8vs8 (-+) Smallgroup (+) Solo (++) Casaul (++) Guildleader (++) Allianceleader (++) Liked by nearly everybody (++) Plays sometimes US PT (+) can be neutral (++) Greetz Luydor |

I think there is no person who can represent the 8v8,solo,smallmen,zerg,casual and pve community at once. |
|
No word about what this council actually should do or can achieve... i mean, communication between staff & community, seriously? Is that all? As if those were 2 partys at a war. Communication is happening alot in this forum, the problem is and will be that NOONE, no player council, no longterm DAoC player, probably not even his mum, will EVER get Blue to think like a player that wants to have fun and not like a programmer that wants to solve mathematical problems.
I wish the future council good luck though and my tip is just don't expect anything, then u won't become a mad bro like me =) |

I do like Holsten and I appreciate what he does for the community. I don't know Rector very well, but I like his guild and from what I saw, he is a very nice guy. However, if Midgard will have 3 representatives, 2 of them will fall into complete same category of player? You stated communication with players from other timezones etc. etc. as a prerequisite. These guys may know some of the people from US or where ever but to say they are a voice of the realm and so on? Anyhow, having two of them(German guys that only play European hours and that are pretty much secluded in their alliances) + one other person is like having two steaks with a slice of tomato for lunch...you will only taste the steaks bro. In other words, info that they provide will probably not be voice of the realm. Btw, I need to ask something out of curiosity. I love this "Liked by nearly everybody" stuff. It does not matter if Holsten, Rector, you, or any other person on the server is liked or hated. Fact of the matter is that you don't know if they are liked or disliked by majority. For that, you would have to be online a lot and not just talk to a LOT of people, but also observe the silent voices and the general perception of the entire server. Sorry mate, but I don't even think know what your guildies like or dislike, let alone the population of the server. Btw, you do understand that as a person who takes applications for this and as the person who posted it you should not have the right to nominate anyone? I believe it is called conflict of interests...enlighten me if I am not correct. "He was concerned only with the naked fundamentals of life. The warm intimacies of small, kindly things, the sentiments and delicious trivialities that make up so much of civilized men's lives were meaningless to him. A wolf was no less a wolf because a whim of chance caused him to run with the watch-dogs. Bloodshed and violence and savagery were the natural elements of the life Conan knew; he could not, and would never, understand the little things that are so dear to civilized men and women." |
|
Aye, something like this is a good idea. Also, I think the most important thing for people chosen for this council is that they are the ones capable of expressing the information players provided(wishes, things they like, things they don't like, etc.), and not their own wishes etc. So, the most important thing is not being liked by entire server, not being alliance or a guild leader but someone with a strong backbone and someone who knows a lot of people and actually communicates with them, someone who will always say the truth.
|
As someone said before, just a few active players are active on the forum, it's not about the opinion of those, but rather about the opinion of the whole community. Blue already said that decisions are made by the whole staff - and some of them were or are actually daoc players. |
|
Well, Holsten and Rector are a little bit different from their gaming style and their alliance are, too. I guess I know good enough what the realm thinking about that players. The important part is just, if you have a problem, would you write Holsten, I guess yes.
I know it easy to say something against that, but you should think about that firstly it is to demonstrate that it is need and can work. Maybe later we will vote the member of it. Greetz Luydor |
