I have the same kind of issue as post viewtopic.php?f=15&t=26007.
Except the difference is it is just one character forbjol.. Toon was already moved but still same problem.. Can you please fix? Last edited by krisdtn on Jun 11, 2012 16:19, edited 2 times in total.

so he was moved from DF to jordheim but still when i click play.. it looks like it is trying to open up, but immediately crashes.. Can someone please help me. I don't play a whole ton so even though he is lvl 25.. that is still a couple weeks worth or so for me to get him there.. I can log into my other toon no problem.

Maybe your PC can't handle these zones. Especially DF and capital cities have been known to cause problems to crappy PCs since they got overhauled.
Try and ask a friend to log it in and move it to an outside zone? (maybe talk to your trainer in Jord first to get that last chestpiece  )In defense of truth-to-experience.

not to sound like a jerk, but even though i'm on a intel hd 3000 graphics processor.. It far surpasses the requirements for this game. Plus that doesn't even help since if I can login on my other toon in the same zones without an issue.

or it could just have easily been a corrupted charname.ini file that is buried in the document and settings (or users) folder.

Good point. I once made a mistake when trying to edit the [macros] section of such a mycharname.ini and the game would crash 1 or 2 seconds after logging in that char. Reinstalling the whole OS - though being a most brutal measure - certainly solves this problem but I would always try to copy the content of a working char's ini-file to the not working one first. Worst thing that could happen would be a quickbar full of questionmark-Icons The problem is that even reinstalling DAoC is probably not sufficent here because these AppData-Folders under documents and settings usually don't get deleted on uninstall so you'd have to to it manually. |

It might be that I messed up my statement due to the fact that my native language is german, but ...

I figured it out... by the last suggestion was the antivirus... well I play on my work laptop, which in turn has symantec end point 12 on it.... This was somehow blocking the one specific character and flagging it as a virus.. So i just uninstalled symantec and booyah.. Im balling again.
