yes i created this account simply for this post alone.

I am reletively new to this server(3-4months)

I have to say I am loving this server and almost everything about it. The people are decent for the most part. and I love the enforcement of no BB's and pling.

However one thing I am absolutely shocked about, is the amount of people who rage quit. While participating in the bg's(I havent made it to 50 yet) I've had some great times.

Many many times we have killed a grp only to have them quit and not come back because of getting killed 1 TIME!!! unexcusable and embarrasing. You should be happy there are people logged in and available for pvp. What causes this? inflated ego's? too much epeen? afraid to die in a game? im baffled at this. This didn't happen on live bg's. This is a weak minded and quitter type attitude. "oh we got rolled once, lets log" pretty sad.

well also in emain people do fast ragequit (me also sometimes),

my reason for ragequitting is, if you build up a grp and it takes ages till you are finished, there are sometimes people who cant play their char, who dont wanna join ts/vent, dont listen and so on.

so if you need ages for going out of the porter keep and getting rolled three times in a row, because some people just do sh*t and you cant find a replacement cause the population is low => ragequit :D

People sometimes mistake "I leave in 15 mins or after next wipe" for rage-quit.

Many have guild stuff to do, or it's getting late etc... and so they say: "Last run for me".
Then when they wipe, they leave. Now the group could continue, but if a very important class (only cleric/sorc/bard etc...) left, and no other is to be found (I've sometimes /lfg for a sorc/cleric for 2 hours, with none to be found for Thid), then the group decides to dissolve.

They could go out, but their opponents group would still be 8 man with good setup, and not likely to reform it to fit the opposition, and so you have no chance of winning. This then becomes a vicious circle, where the 8 man group keeps having same setup, because no one wants to leave the rp-farm, while the group who lacks key members keeps losing members, and so never becomes a proper group.

occasionally yes, but not when I see it happening in the pugs i'm in aswell.

so say they did lose a key class in the group? maybe the other realm did too. But why chance that? We can just quit and log, then our epeens can stay intact.

I've seen ppl of my realm spend lots of time setting up a grp in bg's, get killed and then rage quit, Only to then spend an ton of time trying to get a grp for something else. It's a joke.

hehe, I agree that you shouldn't rage-quit, just pointing out that not all quits are an effect of rage.
And normally it's not just one leaving, often the time will be 22/23 Euro time, and so many agree that it's time for bed, or groups have 2-4 guildies, which all leave to do guild stuff.

I tried wiping to the same Mid group 8 times, 5 of which we didn't kill a single Mid.
Group kept getting new members, because people quit, and in the end it dissolved.
Yes, might have been rage in the end, but in retrospect the mids could have chosen to downsize their group to fit our 5-6 man, they didn't and ended up with an empty Thid :)

But I'd never quit after a wipe or two, but I might after 3 wipes if I judge that there's no way of winning with our current setup/people.

BG are often used to spend some time while RvR is dead, or waiting guildies.
Personnally, i rage quit only when I get farmed xD

We should introduce RP penalty -2000 for every quit within 5 minutes of RvR death  (Joke!)

A lot of people rage quit because the realms arent yet equal but that can only be fixed through trial and error. Others simply arent capable of combatting an opponent that thinks the same way they do as oppose to a computer working on a set series of values and commands making it predictable.

Maybe introduce a reduction in the rps/xp gained from a kill when theres more people in your group than the opponents/ and vice versa.
Will give players an incentive to keep trying even when theyre a little outnumbered, and also to fit their group to the opponents if theyre wanting max xp/rp per kill

or it will force groups to run an even more optimal setup with only 5 members instead of 8.

this could have a detrimental effect on grouping for non essential classes.
