When was the last time you logged on live? I bet it was somewhere around 2003. The "fighting" isn't dominated by MLs and Artifacts, it is supplemented with it.

The video looks bad, the guy who filmed it did a very poor job.

Until 2006, actually. And yep, it was dominated by MLs and artifacts. Placing bodyguard and zephyr correctly was far more important than using right styles etc. Warden was basically a BG and ML-style-bot, just to give an example.

Traps, storms, mines were all over the place.

The use and timing of Artifact abilities was more import than styles in 1vs1 and smallman. Stealth Lore changed the stealth game completely.

Siege MLs made the use of rams almost optional.

A banshee with druid-manafield-bot could farm insane amounts of RP in tower fights.

ToA changed every single aspect of the game.

OFC it changed the game, the game became way more complicated. Saying what I bolded in that quote makes no sense. You put it as if using your characters abilities correctly was not important anymore because, hey, you can bodyguard. It's not like using Zephyr or BG requires all of your mental concentration and power so you can't concentrate on playing your character properly. Also calling the Warden with slam and MLs a bot is ironic, considering you actually had to do stuff and you could finally be more to your group than an RA and Resist bot.

Because we dont have the live numbers, should consider cutting keeps from 4 to 2 or maybe even 1. I kinda like the idea of one giant keep in each land, if a realm wants df it concentrates siege/defense on just one keep.

. . Ofc it would be a bad idea in the end. Well all know which realm kicked ass in the "siege the keep" uthalis raids /flex

Yes! Except I'd say close two frontier zones and use just one as the "active zone" for the week.
Not gonna happen as this would be a custom change. But it's a cool idea.

Each rwalm having their own zines doesnt bother me. Xp areas, dungeon areas and mile gates. Rvr groups tend ti be in one small area anyways :)

At least they are sieging a castle with moving ram ^^ not a store with a wall -.-. Just escalators and lift missing there in OF "keeps".
The fun of sieging on uthgard is pretty low compared to trebus/towers/balists/oils etc as it was b4....

Interesting thing is, yesterday we (4 Albs) were defending surs against 7 hibs who wanted to guardtask.
And instead of making it a fun siege they ran to beno because there were no albs there so they could easily farm their guards.

So why is everyone complaining about no fun sieges, but if there could be one, they run away

guardtasts should be removed as well as grp missis (would even be livelike at our desired patch level) and RP and XP for raiding a keep at least doubled (would be custom).

Guess I´ve been one out of the seven Hibs Pyat is talking about.
We broke the first doors but had to retreat on the second ones after some minutes. Could have been lotta more fun if lvl10 gates wouldn´t be that tough :grin:
And ofc we moved on to another keep, you want us to stay there forever?
