hi im having the same problem posted all over the forums "Unhandled Exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
Access to the patch 'C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Dark Age of Camelot\modmgr.log' is denied. but i have read and made a folder in my daoc directory for the mods moved them to it and im on xp so i cant run as admin anyone have any suggestions thanks in advance |

what i would do is the following:
1) make a folder on the root of your primary drive; eg. "C:\Games" 2) change the permissions on the folder so that the USERS group has MODIFY permission 3) Copy/Move the "Dark Age of Camelot" game folder from "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts" into "C:\Games" the path then becomes "C:\Games\Dark Age of Camelot" 4) Do the same for DAoCPortal - Move to "C:\Games\DAoCPortal" 5) Make sure any mods you have downloaded have been placed into "C:\Games\DAoCPortal\Mods" 6) Patch using the DAoCPortal Mod Manager 7) Choose the Uthgard server, Right Click and edit your Quick Logins then save 8.) Choose a login from the dropdown and click play. |

What do you mean patch using daoc portal mod manager? The clasic, christmas mods are easy to install , the big problem is another. => You have to download the game with normal daoc patcher and you get version 1.110 !..andyou cant play at all , because is not suported and thats when you gota put game.dll for 1.109 .. there s a link here on uthg where you can download it.. and its not megauploads .... whats the thing with moving the game folder from My programs to C ? I was referring to patching the mods into the game using the mod manager.
I posted the original megaupload post containing version 1.109 so I'm well aware of the problem and the fix. I have since posted a selection of links to alternate sources since mega upload is closed.
Depending on your O/S you might find that the program files folder is locked down to prevent changes from all but SYSTEM and Administrator. Rather than change the permissions on the DAOC and the DAOCPortal folders, i find it easier to move them out of Program Files and place them together into a folder i have full control over. You of course, are free to do what you want. |
