I finaly managed to get this thing working and am able to connect to server.
Before I make a char and start playing i have a couple of questions ... what is the population ratio among realms and what would be more fun to play ranger or minstrel? Also is it easier to get group at endgame with minstrel? what about solo between these two? How Thidranki works here, I read here somewhere that you can get up to RR5 there, what level is required to enter? What about how helpfull people are around here? im a noob, played daoc since release and quit short after shrouded isles came out, I bet a lot changed since then huh. |

Thidranki is caped at 4L2, not rr5, u need at least level 44 for go thid 2012:<@[Uth]Abydos> If we don't have SI by the end of the year, Im fairly certain I wont be a GM anymore :-p

If I remember corectly thidranki was lvl 20-24.
So here is ll 44 - 48? and the only battleground ? |

No, in uth there is 3 bgs. Braemar level 20-35 cap 2L2 ( better go after level 30 or u will be a meat ), Wilton level 36-43 cap 3L2, and Thidranki, level 44-49 cap 4L2 2012:<@[Uth]Abydos> If we don't have SI by the end of the year, Im fairly certain I wont be a GM anymore :-p

doesn't sound like you really did much research at all. but....
a lot of the 8 mans here won't run a minstrel, you might get a pug group with minst, but probably not, because there are a lot higher rr minsts out there for a pug than what you will be. a minstrel is extremely expensive to template properly. with mp armor and higher end drop items from taj2 being mainly what you will have to use. ranger, i can't really comment on, because i don't play hib and not sure what it takes to template a char there. but, considering your 2 choices for chars, i'd say that you know they are very fotm, as is minstrel. i would suggest rolling a cleric/druid or paladin/hero/champ for a first char so you can get in on some raid groups and such to build up some money so you can make a decent template for your solo char, just my .02 goodluck |

A minstrel is much more flexible since you'll be moving very quickly, you can climb walls to do guardtasks or kill others who do so, i often farmed people while they were doing tasks. You can easily cross the amg due to speed (most people won't be fast enough to attack you if you run through amg with speed 6). A ranger is very weak at low realm ranks but fairly easy to play compared to minstrel. on the other hand you won't need as much money to get a decent ranger template. Most people don't take a minstrel in their groups because they simply don't know how good it can be (due to the lack of good minstrels
![]() another problem is that you have to decide between group and solo RAs since AM is useless for soloing while being great for groups. |

agree, minstrels can win the fights for ya if the player behind it got a clue. no clue why people dont group em here, prolly cuz the lack of good minst yeah. |
|
A well played minstrel is all on this server.
Noticed it so many times I was grpd with mine. But it's also about the grp behind ya.. and I'm not talking about Realm ranks. Kinds regards Chrissi |

sry but with pets w/o speed, w/o buffs and no good pets at all in emain minstrels are way weaker here than on live. a well played minst can be good, a well played additional merc or a caba or whatever is better anyway.

minstrels here only get a group if they are in a guild and the group wants speed. So most train for solo action an fail cause they are weak an pets here suk plus were nerfd. A good minstrel will spec for assist which is what they are anyways but you stil will not find many group offers .My 4l6 minstrel will probly remain 4l6 forever despite the fact he is full group assit and I can play him pretty well.
