Hibs lost their relics and so we lost hibs in rvr, not the first time to happen, mids probably forgotten what happens when hibs loose their relics.

Its natural, Population shifts. Last few weeks, Mids were struggling most of the time to field more then 1 RvR Grp, Yesterday there were 4 or 5 of them. Hib had at least 3 grps a night, last night it was only 2. Wonder when Alb will get the next massive boost in playerbase. Has always been that way on Uth, will not change i think.

|
I don't really understand it though, I would be nothing but happy if we had 8 enemy groups out (alb perspective), dont see why more people dont take the opportunity to play when the action is good. |
|
The problem comes with older games when there are opposing sides.
1) sooner or later a significant portion of the player base has toons on opposing sides. - in daoc this would mean havign toons in each realm, or at least 2 realms. 2) people would rather have easy than they would action. i.e. people hate losing. - sure they might log in their hib 8man so they can "farm the midzerg or relic hoppers", but after the first death they all QQ that they "got zerged" or that "relic bonus is OPed". 3) they end up either logging, or taking the opurtunity to play on the realm that has the relic bonus for a while. - it might not even be to ride the relic bonus in pvp. having a 10% bonus to dmg plus a population boost makes leveling an alt a ton faster. ------------------------ - it was often a joke on live that the 10% relic bonus for each relic came with a 20% population bonus too. - on numerous times it was asked by the player base to apply a dynamic underdog realm point bonus (as opposed to the static ones they did eventually implement) to help handle these fluctuations. - personally I always thought that you should get a realm point bonus for every relic that you dont have. you have to fight harder to win, you should get rewarded for doing it. but thats not livelike of the days of yore, so it wont happen. |

Population fluxes in endgame rvr seem are so drastic here because the endgame rvr population is so damn small. A few people going on holidays or taking a break or switching realms may prevent an entire group from running, and on this server the difference between great action and bad action in one zone is 1 or 2 groups. So a few people on a realm take a break and suddenly the realm goes from having 2-3 groups consistently out to 1 or 0 groups consistently out. And this server is so dominated by high rr group action and skepticism of random player skill level that new players arriving to endgame has such a dampened effect on rvr proportions.

I agree with my guildmates.
But as we all know hib is the underdog, always has been. It is extremly underpowered and those hibs you see roaming most of the times are just cannon fodder. I can give you a good tip though: If you want balanced end game rvr with alot of action, go play some other server. Don't even bother with Hibernia on Uthgard! Hi!

Where when? you guys on Hib arent underdogs in that regard you have fewer players etc... You just dont go out rvr. 90% of the inc I get when im out with my team in Hadrians /odins (not emain) are mids, low RR mids, medium RR, and high. Was like that even before they got all relics, just maybe a slight increase today. Just want to mention also this remark is not for all NS/Rangers, I know you are out alot, its just the group hib rvr we dont see, why is that? Theres a joke on albs, saying that Hibs only care to pve... Merry Christmas all! |

Please read my post again, I didn't say that we are the underdog in terms of numbers. The fact that hib there is so few hibs is just an effect of the balance issues this server has for several years now. Hi!

Patch setting might not be completley favorable, but going so far to say "extremly underpowered" is just a major exaggeration.
|
|
It's as much of an exaggeration as 'not completely favorable' is an understatement.
There's no situation where they're on equal footing. |
|
I disagree.

Why don't you take your whole little guild and go back to Hib and show us how its supposed to be done? Oh wait, that reminds me: Anguish tried that and failed, other groups/guilds either failed or were lucky because during their time there were no decent enemy groups playing. It is because alot of things and its definitely a major issue, don't try to talk it down.
Oh and yea, remember people: They can't fix animists (for over 1 1/2 years now) because they would sabotage every keep raid, since the pathing system isn't perfectly working. But yea, let's keep working on monster movement! ![]() Hi!
