Ora.. C'è qualche buon anima che gioca sull'11.10 a Daoc e mi scriverebbe passo passo come fare?

I'm not sure if Uthgard has similar checks to detect speed hacking, that could cause you trouble when using WINE. Any experience of GMs on this would be interesting.

I also read that you might have to disable compiz to prevent problems when the 3D stuff from your GFX card is used both by your Window manager and by DAOC at the same time. Note that the current Ubuntu distribution has Unity desktop, which means that compiz is enabled by default. You might need to change the window manager to something else (like KDE or Gnome) to disable compiz.

Su ubuntu DAoC l'ho sempre fatto girare senza problemi.
Prendi la cartella dell'installazione su win e la copi tale e quale nella partizione con ubuntu, lanci il game.dll tramite wine.
Devi disattivare le ombre ed i riflessi dell'acqua, danno problemi sotto linux, per maggiori prestazioni conviene usare la vecchia grafica. Per il resto nessun problema.

premetto che sto usando wine 1.2 perchè più stabile dell'1.3..

Ho la cartella di daoc in Scrivania, e sono riuscito ad installare Daoc Portal. Daoc portal, sebbene installato, non parte, e questo succede anche se provo a lanciare game.dll con wine.

Non riesce a lanciare l'applicazione, e non mi da alcun messaggio di errore, semplicemente, arresta il caricamento..
