Hello all - thanks for stopping by and I hope to hear from someone soon.
-------------------------------
I would like to conduct some Friar research. I feel like my staff is doing SLIGHTLY lower DPS than it really should be. Is there a way I can do PROPER research, report these findings to Uthgard staff and perhaps get it fixed - ***IF*** anything is wrong? I will need to know pretty much what to do step by step, but I WILL put in the hard work if someone is willing to tell me how...
-------------------------------
Then again - this may all be in part to me being 35... LOL ... but I'd still like to conduct some research - maybe get a few Friars together on this?
Look very forward to your response,
Ost

Make account on Pendragon (live test server),create friar and do trilion bounces with your staff (unstyled, styled). Then compare it with Uthgard results ,make tables and post it in bugreport section

that's pretty much it, but:

u need to have exactly the same "environment" on uth and pend...that means:

- same player level
- same mob-level
- same "mob-type" (dunno how to say this...same abs and af on mob if this can be compared...i guess dolls outside cam are fine)
- same staff (dps, quality, speed)
- same stats (dex and qui)
- same buffs (if any are used like haste or something)
- same styles (if used)

if I have forgotten any other source of influence, feel free to add it to the "same ..." list ;)

btw: about 400-500 swings should be fine though sometimes 250 will be alright as well (for very tiny differences 1000 swings might be necessary)

just a hint: use a faster staff to get more hits in less time...not applicable if you're trying to test slow staffs in particular :D

edit: forgot one important thing: check staff condition...if the staff is worn down to 99 or 98% condition or less, it deals less dmg...so you need to check that every now and then ;)

Make sure relic bonuses are the same and make sure masterlevel bonuses... whatever else "new" types of bonuses (resi pierce?) do not apply on pendragon.
“DAOC is not about what you can log. It's about what you can play :> ”

Uthgard 1.0: <Die Lettanten> Ivia - 8L8 Nightshade - Lone Enforcer since 8L1.
Uthgard 2.0: <Illuminated Stormriders> Oxy - Hero; Ivia - Nightshade.

that's pretty much it, but:

u need to have exactly the same "environment" on uth and pend...that means:

- same player level : No problem,on live is dual logging allowed (Pendragon included)
- same mob-level : No problem, zones are filled more than Uthgard and you can "make" lvl what you need
- same "mob-type" (dunno how to say this...same abs and af on mob if this can be compared...i guess dolls outside cam are fine) : Impossible ATM
- same staff (dps, quality, speed) : No problem
- same stats (dex and qui): No problem
- same buffs (if any are used like haste or something) No problem
- same styles (if used): Impossible, styles was revamped

Its same as reaver style "bug" what i posted, because is impossible make same conditions due styles change and is almost impossible find documentation from desired patch version.

would only count for styled attacks right? normal attacks should still do same dmg...and as for style dmg: just find 2 styles having the same growthrate...as far as i understand the dmg-calc for style-dmg this should to the trick...which style it is and what prereqs etc. it has, should not matter...0.8 growthrate on one style should add the same dmg as 0.8 GR on a different style ;)...and if the GR is different, you can still test it and try to scale by using 2 styles (like if u wanna test 0.6 then use a 0.5 and 0.7 style and calc the bonus...the 0.6 should be in the middle, right?)

or did i get your comment wrong? :)
