the Aura of Deflection buff delves a 52af bonus. however, i removed all my armor so that my armor factor stat was 0. gave myself the Aura of Deflection buff and my af stat remained 0.

As I understand it, the bonus is applied over pieces of armor, not on top of your current AF. Equip some armor and you will see there is a benefit.

i added 1 piece of armer then buffed, no change
removed buff i added 2 piece of armer then buffed, no change removed buff i added 3 piece of armer then buffed, no change removed buff i added 4 piece of armer then buffed, no change removed buff i added 5 piece of armer then buffed, no change removed buff i added 6 piece of armer then buffed, no change |

i think i found it. it's because my armor is MP and fully repaired?

A base AF buff ist just capping your AF that is possible to have with fully repaired MP stuff.
Only spec AF (charged, Pala-Aura and Cleric spec AF) gives you AF ontop |
