Hybrid bard TP, what would you chose among these 3 variants?

Hello again :grin:
I designed a final TP for my friend's bard.
Since its spec is a little hybrid, i had to give importance to blade, strength and quickness, because our project is to be able to duo in the future (actually she is still 49.5 at Thidranki).

I have some doubts about the right balancing between the strength and the quickness his character should have and i'd like to have some suggestions/opinions.

The three possible solutions are these ones (the 3 objects reported are the only ones where the two stats can be modified, because all the other points come from objects):

What do you think? My favourite one is the second, B, because 51 quickness helps with both evading and weapon speed. After all +42 str is always good, if you think that bard can give himself +50 via buff.

Do you agree or prefer another solution??

If you run duo you better dont use your weapons at all.
Just stay away from any action - heal and mezz/rupt.

Yes, but when occur a 2 vs. 2 clash (or similar), it's not uncommon that it may happen that the bard will rest alone versus one remaining enemy, or that mezz get purged and the only thing that a bard can do, instead of simply running (with an enemy mincing his back :wink: ), like sadly lot of bards do, is to help me kill who is trying to kill her :grin:

just stay on distance as a bard and u ll not be forced in using ur blades. bards job is to cc play endu and rupt. your partner has to kill ur 20dmg will not help at all except that they ll focus u down. get book of chaos in both of ur temps, this will give u much more RPs.

Well, i'm not a bard, i'm a ranger :grin:
My friend is the bard.
I know that if possible, bards should stay out of melee, but if reality was like you said, expert bards would never die.
Inc starting: "CC, cure, cure mezz, sos, cure, cure, cure, whops, my party has lost, i'll simply go away".
It does not work this way, maybe just in theory.
Bards die, and die frequently, because despite their will, they get caught into melee.
That's why, in a duo, a bard able to do some damage is better than the usual bard that only awaits death running around with an enemy sticked at his back.

Btw, i've decided for the B version, that i further improved so qui with weapons is 53 and, no matter what instrument is selected, every resistence is 100% capped :wink:

Talking about alchemy, what do you all suggest? Full abla? Lots of abla and some heal?
And for the weapon/shield? Dot of course is not a good choice, since it will let become istamezz useless, right? So, simple DD or heal (has fast weapon, sickle)?
For the Shield? Since bard blocks extreme rarely, should it be better to use charges?

I might need a final help to decide the last two details.

An option about Str and Qui might be to remove the +28 Strength on the weapon, putting +28 Quickness and capping it.
Unfortunately this would lead to a waste of 6 points of Qui over cap, giving a STR: 42/75 - QUI: 81/75 in combat, that might be a better defensive solution (and even more balanced, since Str is usually +50 self buffed, at least in a small man environment).

Another option i was thinking about, is to lower power with instruments (power is really a marginal bonus, since even with +26 you only get one smaller healing spell to cast, that's all), privileging defense.
This could lead to all instruments spelled this way:

Name: Crafted Lute/Drum/Flute
Level: 51 Quality: 100
Imbue Points: 37.5 of 32 Overcharge: 5,5
Gem 1: 11 Slash Resist - Faceted Watery Shielding Jewel
Gem 2: 7 Crush Resist - Imperfect Fiery Shielding Jewel
Gem 3: 28 Quickness - Perfect Airy Essence Jewel
Gem 4: 3 Power - Rough Mystical Essence Jewel
Utility: 56.7

And so, with instruments, the stats would be:

STR: 42/75 - CON: 76/75 - DEX: 76/75 -
QUI: 53/75 - CHA: 76/75
Pow: 09/26 - Hits: 200/200

+11 Music will change NOTHING but give you like +10 damage (if that much) on the instant DD, so its really just wasted Imbues. I would leave them out and cap str with it, if you should really go into melee you will see a much greater change there.

Ok, but, exchanging +4 on a skill ability (20 utility) with a +5 on a stat (3.3 utility) doesn't seem to be a very smart move... 8O
Maybe could be a very interesting option (if +11 music brings a damage bonus so scarce as you said), to remove +4 music from boots and replace it with +22 Qui, so to perfectly cap quickness with weapons and instruments :P

I agree with Asloan, i think it will be even less than 10 dmg, maybe 5 or so, not really worth capping music. You'll profit more from capping Str and especially having Quick capped all the time (even with Instruments) due to higher evade.

I asked an expert bard ingame, and he said that with +11 music he gets a 18 damage bonus with the shout.
Few enough to sacrifice 4 points in favour of capping quickness (with +70, strength can be considered capped).
The problem is that he also said to me that +11 in music is necessary because every single point boosts the chance that mezzes are not resisted.
In this case, +11 music seems to be very important.
So, before taking a final decision, i'll have to investigate more :|

lol. Who was this expert bard? + Music does NOTHING then boost damage. The only thing effecting if mezzes get resisted or not, is the effectiv spell Level (which can me influenced by MoF), and the level of the target.
