Maybe it has already been clarified, but i dont remeber reading an explanation for this XD, so...
Statement 1: Cooperation between realms is forbidden. Statement 2: You are free to choose if attack or not attack someone. Here's my example 2 hibs, 2 albs and 4 mids spot each other at the same time. Hibs and albs would probably try to cooperate to have a chance in winning against the mids, but this goes against the first statement. So hibs, albs and mids could attack at random every realm enemy they see but, other than being a stupid strategy, this will go against the second statement. And when the enemies from one realm died, and the cooperation between the survivors is no more needed, you have to choose again if attack your enemies or not. Prohibiting this is again going against the second rule. These two statements cannot coexist together. Any logical explanation from any GM? (Sorry if my english its not that good) |

I guess the first statement is related to an intentional alley to take advantage on one of the three realms.
Your case shows a battlefield situation, I guess it's normal to try for the best tactic to survive... i have to say from my own experience that it is easier to find a cooperation kind 2+4 vs 2, but this is another story XD Different case if you are on a voice chat with your friend from another realm, and together decide to kill people of the third realm, in that case I guess you are cheating, and for this purpose you have the 1st statement. I also think there are exceptional cases where you have to break the rules, for example if one of the three realms has continuously the ownership of all the relics/keeps/df or whatever, symptom of some kind of imbalance; In that case I'd see a temporary alley between 2 realms, as a war strategy that you can have in a war game, but I guess this point could be arguable for someone. |

Crossrealming would exist if the two albs and two hibs killed the mid group and then went their separate ways without killing each other off afterward.

No. This is allowed. @Entreri There is no logical explanation. The first statement exists only to give justification to bans, and should be viewed as referring more to out-of-game forms of cooperation. The second statement is common sense and how DAoC was always played. |

Spot on |
|
There are threads where people have been warned for such a scenario and it should not be allowed. |
|
Of course it should be allowed. You can't order anyone who to kill and where to move, no matter if they're alone, in a duo or in a fg. Read those threads more carefully, as most of them were about accusations of RP farming.

http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/5403/uthgardjail.png From the thread I'm thinking of. Not an accusation of RP farming. Play how you want or don't, it's your problem in the end.

A pre-organized cooperation between realms(via chat, voice chat...) is intentionally. In my scenario, both hibs and albs thinks they should cooperate together to beat the mids. This is not pre-organized, but its intentionally too. |
|
i don't understand the scenario, mids will just kill albs and hibs at the same time. Because mids are the better daoc players

Now read the remainder of that thread, and then subsequent threads about that and similar incidents. |

That thread killed any respect I had for GM Eleras before I even met him/her. I almost decided to stop wasting my time on Uthgard if it was gonna be GM fascism like that. I've learned recently that it isn't all that bad. But the GMs need to get their stories straight: it seems like different GMs have a different version of the rules that they enforce. 1. The enemy of your enemy is your friend unless your enemies’ enemy is on their own in which case they are your enemy.
2. If you and your enemies’ enemy kill your enemy then your enemies’ enemy is now your enemy. 3. The enemy of your enemy is your friend but only if it’s unintentional easy |
