I get these weird lag spikes and I live in( US eastern time zone )yet I have super fast internet which is always working fine. they last 5-10 sec and happen every 20 sec....At first I thought it was my internet but its not. It also happens in certain locations, like DF, DL, and Tnn. Also in the some dungeons. Please is there a fix to this maybe something I can download or am I suppose to deal with this random lag? Other people don't lag and its not my internet what else could it be....

PS I was so hoping to RvR but with this lag im not sure it worth spending time level a character if this is my playing experience.

Normally my lag is a little earlier but I was getting some bad quick 4 sec spikes a few times

US players that I know all get lag. I am from west coast USA, and I get lag spike that can be as long as 20 seconds or more sometimes. A european vent/ts server will tend to make it worse, especially when everyone is talking.

it sucks, but i don't think there is anything we can do about it.

My lag for very long time was from routing through telia.net in Europe after crossing the Atlantic. seems to have gotten much better now. but still have a occasional auto follow lag or /face warp now and then. but much better than pings of 500ms+ at times for several hops in a row.

its so crazy but the server does restart and now my lag is gone... I wonder why there doing restarts every single day now. It just happens that my lag started when they began doing the daily restart. May be some internal problem?

Lag still continues, I played a few games of Hon and I experience no lag... this is a server problem and It just makes it impossible to play. Every 20 sec I get 4-5 sec lag spikes just makes no sense. Please someone give me a fix to this I really want to play on Uthgard but this is making it tough.

Edit= I did not have this problem a few weeks ago so this is something they are currently doing to the servers.

today was the first day I experienced what you're experiencing.

Its been going on for more then a week and Its just unplayable, I thought I found the perfect server to replay my memories of Old school DAoC but it's more Frustrating than enjoyable.... It's so retarded that I can't believe so many people play on this server with such poor connection... Are there any other classic servers like this one?

lol. So true. Seriously, last nights escapades of LDing/Spikes is the first I've experienced on the server and I'm 42 now. If it was this bad you think I'd of stuck around all the way to 42?

I never get lag, ever, well maybe some micro stuttering when zerg faces zerg, but yesterday in Thid, me and a shaman got an inc from 2 lurikeens. As soon as the fight started my FPS dropped to about 5, which obviously resulted in me being dead on the floor.

However as soon as i released the lag was gone and that was the only lag i had.

I assume the connection to the server was responsible, unless there is a way to cause someone to get lag only when you are fighting them...

I heard way back when they added /hood to the game, some made a comment to"flash hood on inc". the referance was to cause others to lag but don''t know if it was true or not. Probably just a type of daoc legend.

'They' have been doing daily reboots since I started playing here on Uthgard, and more than likely 'they' did so since the server went online over half a decade ago. These reboots are not the cause of your problems.
Also it's not a serverside problem, the server's hardware is capable enough, as is the software. The problem appears to be hops through Telia and Hertzner, but only sometimes and not for everyone, they are not broken, just not working right, which makes it difficult to put a finger on what's actually wrong.

Nevertheless you experience a ****** connection to Uthgard which makes it difficult for you to enjoy the game. It is nothing the people that run Uthgard can help.
