ForumCan create character but can't load game...

I downloaded the game from the installer, then I opened DaoC portal, patched everything, then I tried to connect.... I created a char and when I try to enter the game it acts like it finishes loading then just sits there. I think it also gives me the error that it was unable to connect , press esc to exit game... Anybody else have this problem?

My gf had this problem for about a week. We tried reinstalling on different drives and running with different video options and skins.. nothing worked. We all but gave up. A week later we tried the game again, and it worked. No idea what the cause or solution was. The problem sounds very similar to what you are experiencing.

Tried disabling your firewall?

if it is the firewall, try adding an exception for connect.exe in portal folder and camelot.exe in DAOC folder.
