the vid shows how the questssteps even for rvr mission are shown
![]() btw if you think that this is the way how to play an animist on uthgard... just fail tbh as animist you have to kite you deal 0 dmg (only with lt wich is like 3XX or so) Comparison video - Uthgard Casting time, Dmg, artifacts, mls/cls - storms, how easy the juggernaut pet dies, on uthgard you can only use tanglers for easyier kite and than help to nuke if you are free. ![]() |

To all of you complaining about animists...
If you get killed by shrooms it's your own fault, you ran into their range without CCing them, good for you. Now for the interesting part: ANIMISTS ARE NOT AS STRONG AS THEY SHOULD BE! So please, realise that if you're getting owned already, it's only going to get worse when (or no, IF) they get fixed... In defense of truth-to-experience.

I think at this point it's "IF" they get fixed.
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> You have to be a c*** to be awesome at daoc

You misunderstand me. You show me someone that understands Animist. I understand animists too--and they don't belong in DAoC. They belong in a Real Time Strategy (RTS) game, not DAoC. They have too many gimmicks and GTAOE isn't well enough developed in the game to support Animists being core to the game. That is my opinion ![]() |

First off all I did not QQ but took it with humor as you can see by recognizing the smilies. I dont think they are uber or unfair or something. It is just that they have to rely on such cheap tactics like planting shrooms around a corner and then wait for somebody to come by and watch him die because they are nerfed or bugged on uthgard. Second my problem was entering the ck with shrooms planted everywhere that were impossible for me to see before I entered CK. 0 Chance to counter since I have no QC as a minstrel and I could only see them when I already was in castrange ![]() Nxt time only post if you got something to contribute to the topic |

Really? They used an ability they have? Those jerks! Also, couldn't the same be said about casting mezz out of stealth? I couldn't see him casting the mezz... such a cheap tactic. Healowner - Alb/Merlin - The Guardians |

Animist is an awesome class, but unfortunately it is treated like the worst disease for mankind on Uthgard. I have played mine solo back in the day when NF was the main RvR zone on the server. I performed well unless it wasnt no purge3 (or purge3 plus viper3) Assassin.

In my opinion animist is very interesting class, and very powerfull if good played. Its nice for farm, keeps defense, casters protect...

I was a part of a group of 4 or 5 animists in Braemar this past weekend.
It was pretty fun for a while, but it got boring after we ended up getting pinned down in one of the gate rooms after taking forever to break down the outer door with just staffs. We could have stayed there and kept getting the occasional Realm Point, but we got tired of it and decided to go back out in front of the keep and hold on as long as possible. We lasted about another 20 minutes before the other two realms sandwiched us. The RPs were nice, but it was nowhere near the 'farm' session that a lot of people think Animists seem to have. I probably would have gotten double the RPs had I been on any of my other characters. I don't know why there are so many complainers about us out there. There are plenty of ways to work around, and even counter, an animists shroom field without much effort. Not to mention that there are plenty of noob shroomers out there that don't have much more than [GT] and [Forest Heart] saved to their quickbars... Yet 3 times out of 5, some random dipstick will run right through the field and die in 4 seconds, wailing to the masses about how 'overpowered' or 'cheap' we are. If you see shrooms, kill them or stay away. It's really not that difficult to figure out. Heaven forbid how much more they'd complain if our bombers ever get fixed and the noob shroomers ever get wind of how useful some of our other spells can be. |

Your argument reminds me of when left axe was ridiculously strong and people justified it with the fact that most enemies just ran from a berserker and well the berserker didn't have any way to catch fleeing enemies so it was fair after all. |

Casting 20 shrooms behind a wall is cheap. You cant very well counter a field of shrooms when they are hidden by some animist who has been there waiting 15 minutes on the off chance someone runs by the object they have hidden their shrooms behind.
Only time I get caught by an animists shrooms, anyway.. theres a reason they have no use in 8v8 or any respectable form of RvR. They are useless without having 15 minutes to set up a trapped shroom field. |

QQ more ^^ Of course you can. They have a casting time of 2 seconds at least, and when they start casting its very loud. very easy to go back to whereever you came from. And then you can just move around the corner and qc mezz/stun/whatever them and they are useless within 1.5 seconds. People saying animists are lame and/or OP are ridicuously naive PvP players. Try to play an animist, without any direct form of CC (casting a root shroom takes 2-3 seconds, and then another 2 seconds before the shroom casts the root) is very challenging. Again, if you are dumb enough to run into a field of shrooms, it's a little bonus the animist well deserves for playing a hard-to-play rvr class. “DAOC is not about what you can log. So an animist is clever if he hides his shrooms but a player is dumb if he's killed by them? ^^ |
|
No, what I said that playing an animist (especially in open field) is tough.
Setting up a lot of shrooms in one place alone is not clever. But if you are able to drag/tease naive or (mostly!) RP-greedy players into them, then you are. If you use them to clear pets, you are. If you use them to give your supporters a save spot to pull back with adds, you are. If you prevent enemy casters/supporters from mezzing/DoTing/Nuking them, you are. ![]() “DAOC is not about what you can log. It's about what you can play :> ”
