People are talking about how milegates force zerging to occur. I don't know whether this is true, but if it were certain that milegates caused zerging, and we didn't want zerging, would the devs even be capable of modifying the terrain, or would a map switch be required?

maps are hosted by the client application, so they would need to develop a specific mod for you to install into portal like the classic patch i suppose.

Although i seem to recall moving PK''s is easier than terraforming so it might not be possible :)

Sorry you dont like zerging, I guess the staff supports it. So change your argumentation for changing RvR maps or you wont get what you want. You can always get what you want +sing+

i really didn't understand what you were trying to say there.

but anyway, the OP didn't say that he doesn't like zerging, but rather would changing the terrain make any difference.

Answer: Blue changed the terrain from NF to OF and people still zerg. The only reason why its "so bad" now, is because of the people camping at AMG. If it were easier for people to travel about in sub 8 man groups then there would be no need to zerg.

The only way to stop the camping at AMG is to make other areas more attractive, or remove the choke points on a map.

The only reasonable thing to do to combat choke points is to re-implement NF again.

I really don't think that's going to happen any time soon as its a step backwards for the Devs and is counter-productive.

Are those areas somehow fundamentally different in a way that would discourage zerging?

Except of course that normal group movement is made even more difficult by the terrain and that the milegates there would be even more crowded?

Too bad they don't want a setting that is capable of supporting all kinds of playstyles.

They should really re implement agramon and see where most ppl would go.

Forum votes were manipulated anyway...

I guess you mean NF as a whole. Agramon lends itself to 8vs8 of course, since it is so central. But having a seemless FZ, a warmap and a better keep system would potentially invite more people to go out, raid and defend keeps and whatnot. My main issue with OF is that it is a) cumbersome to find out where enemies are raiding and then b) to get there in time. Needless to mention that raiding/defending OF keeps is just ****** compared to NF ^^

But we've been there and clearly that point is non-negotiable (OF is here to stay). /shrug

I guess I wouldn't even care too much if the OF setting was finished, but OF with NF-RAs has...room for serious improvement? ^^
