I just started leveling up on this server, and played a ranger on live(Mordred), So i figured i would roll one here. After reading the forums a bit, i've seen that many people say once at 50 rangers are fodder. Is this true?
If so, what would you suggest i roll for solo action ( even if it's rare due to zerging etc ) . I guess i'd roll a visible that can solo well also if they're not viable here. Reaver/VW/Merc/BM/Minstrel/Skald/Eld/Animist?? Thanks for any input  |

U can roll all classes but pls no more rangers!!!! there are already enough ^^ just check in herald...
if i can give u a suggestion i'd tell u to roll a thane / friar / vw. Imo best 3 solo classes with lot of utilities. But if u like easymode then just roll a ranger ^^. Greetings Esse |

Dont listen to Esse, running a visible for solo play is senseless and you will just be rolled by all others. Do a Ranger, Infi, SB or Minst.
Rangers are one of the strongest 1v1 classes here. Regards |

BTW is just a post about ranger or not... i told him to roll another class cuz there are already too many rangers around and just few knows how to play it correctly. But was a suggestion. U still provoking ppl in all ways. I wont have anything bad with u so stop talking about me. i never had a dinner with you, i never had a story with your wife/sister/mother, so just dont talk with me. After this.. just choose the class u want. As u seen in this server there are several ppl that claims to be Pro/Uber/Fair.. Remember just 1 thing. UTHGARD IS NOT THIS. Greetings Esse |

If you create a Stealther you have to live with Stealthwar/zerg/mosbots etc.
If you roll a Solo-visible you have to deal with tons of idiots from the Community which currently make solo RvR visible very hard. Either way, you won't find much Soloaction here. But for your choice: Stealther: Minstrel>Ranger>Infi>SB>NS>other Archers Non Stealther: Thane/Friar/VW/Champ/Warrior are the best soloclasses. Ofc every class can be played as a solo class Animist is kind of broken here. |

Rangers are definitely not fodder at 50.
There are a lot of rangers on Uth because they are good at 50... there is just a lot of people who complain because they always get put down by melee rangers, myself included. Stealth classes really do get an edge on Uthgard, which is why there are so many of them. However, don't use bows because they are not very effective at the moment, doable, but difficult. the problem is that stealthers tend to hang out at AMG, which is the main fighting place for the 3 realms. If a group sees a stealther most try to put them down. If a group of stealthers are there then there are never ending complaints on the forum about stealth zerg (see above). my advice? 1) Roll a stealther 2) go solo kill the odd solo/duo or 1) Roll a visible 2) join a group and kill solo/groups. thats all there is to it. |

If I do roll a solo visible.. I want to roll something that groups will also invite here.. What would you suggest? |

Look, I came here with a general question. No need for trolling, go do that on another topic. I've read plenty of posts about rangers and the general concencus i've found is that the majority of assasins have viper 3. With viper3 and high evade, sins basically wreck through rangers even with IP2 and purge. |

You shouldn't be afraid of assassins that have viper3. You should be afraid of the ones that don't. Seriously |

Doesn't PD just easily counter them though without legendary weapons? Or are legendary weapons enabled here? |

No legendary weapons.
Edit: But I can assure you that the combination of str/con debuff (ouch - 118str/con = weaponskill drops to the floor), re-applying dot (even at viper 1 or 2) and high growth-rates of CS styles are VERY effective. Last edited by shade on Jul 05, 2011 12:19, edited 2 times in total.
