I would just like to thank the GM's for making that change, best thing they could possibly do for RvR activity in off hours or just for a low populated realm :)

You guys rock, you need the praise when you do something cool :)

I haven't seen exactly how it works yet, but the idea is cool, my only concern is hibs not getting a benefit from it regarding emain? :)

Anyway, keep up the good work :)

well, sadly european primetime players dont profit from it at all, and now i did /who emain = 5 and port timer is already at 7 mins again, ... its a start but wont change much at all

Well I guess this wasn't intended to help primetime.. there is already many out.. but this weekend morning etc it's very nice.. and it could motivate more US players to go out and RvR some ;)

Its more a advantage for realms to port to other realms... so mostly for albion/midgard....
albion / midgard now only need 2min to be back in emain, when they wipe in when primetime is over... hibs still need 5+ mins... with camped horse route etc.

plz nerf hibs more - so u will have a new wow - only 2 realms fight each other :P

But anyway - its hopefully a change in the right direction - if porters to keeps will come also...

The group that killed albs/mids benefits also because it's inc is back much faster. How is this a "nerf" to hib? :roll:

I still don't quite understand how this exactly works...

the following questions are from alb point of view:

what does "frontier population" mean?

1. the whole frontiers including alb, mid and hib?
2. only enemy frontiers, i.e. mid and hib?
3. some sort of "max-function" that determines the max population in a single zone and chooses it for threshold-testing?

each case is a little unfortunate:
1. if there's a grp raiding keeps and another grp raiding green knight, then porter won't stay down even if there's not a single alb in hib or mid frontier - also own frontier shouldn't be taken into account for this
2. if there's a keep raid in mid or a glacier giant raid, porter won't stay down, even though actual rvr isn't taking place - is fine, but still a little unfortunate ;)
3. would be a bad idea for the same reasons as the 2.

how to solve this?

enemy population should be taken into account for the threshold...like:

(for simplification i'll use only hib frontier..same calculation could be done mid-wise)
1. there's 5 albs in hib-frontier - there's also 5 hibs and 5 mids -> anything is fine, porter can be dealt with as up to now
2. there's 5 albs in hib-frontier - however there's 10 hibs there too, but no mids: porter should stay down so more albs can port
2. there's 5 albs in hib-frontier - there's also 3 hibs and 10 mids there: porter should stay down - this is the same case as before - imho the test should always be done vs the realm that has the most players in the specific frontier...

maybe port time could even be some sort of linear function instead of fixed times...like...5 albs in max-pop frontier and 10 mids or hibs: port-time is halved...5 albs and 5 mids/hib: port time is normal - 10 albs, 5 hibs/mids: port-time is normal (normal is max-porttime) - 5 albs and 25 midshibs: porttime is the lowest threshold possible (there should be a min-porttime of like 2 mins or something)

what i mean is:

porttime = min-porttime < ( max-alb-population in frontier / max-enemy-pop in frontier ) * max-porttime < max-porttime

dunno exactly how the handle the borders differently...i mean the keep-raiding thing...if there's one or even 2 keep raids in mid and there's no albs in emain, while there's a lotta hibs/mids there, porter should still stay down even though alb-population is pretty high in mid...maybe some1 else can come up with a good solution on that one ;)

Only population of the the teleporters realm matters. Thought that was clear from the patch notes. There were two options one to define a time range for off hours and one to detect that by population of the realm in the frontiers. The last one works out quite fine and is similar to a time based approach.

There are no plans to make it a function as it already serves it purpose for off hours. There will be other things which will influence port times in future when the time comes for it.

You can play directly your main in emain then instead of this weird circle.

Thank you for the change, and I'm also glad it wasn't changed to an insta port.

This helps when you have one person in your guild that always misses the port, or buys the wrong necklace. :gaga:

Does it count only 50's in the frontier zones? Because I usually level in the frontier after level 25.
