You must run DAOCPortal as administrator (right click daocportal, choose run as administrator)

Best is to NOT install DAoCPortal on C drive.

I did all the above steps and now when I type in my info and tell it to play on Uthgard then it says "Renderer creation failed" then a new window pops up and says "Your client crashed before it even started connecting. You could try to run camelot.exe with 'Check All Files' enabled." How do I do that and does anyone know what my problem is?

Update direct X first of all

Then run camelot.exe

The file isn't released with the installer currently because of my unfamiliarity with the system since Metty stopped development on it.

The standard nullsoft installer I could not get to work correctly so I went with the Visual Studio .msi installer.

For the majority this shouldn't be a problem as the patcher should re-download the dolloader.exe, but for a number of people the patcher doesn't seem to do this. I don't know why.

By chance are you using a 64 bit OS?

I had this problem with the missing file and I'm on win 7 professional 64Bit.

remember to start it with administrator rights, both on Vista and on 7

Had 2 new friends coming on Uthgard (i did spread the voice..)
They both download Daocportal and both had the missing dolloader.exe.
It really seems that the download link on the dol server has a wrong or incomplete version.
Copyright problems?

I did both of these and updated my driver and it gives me the same message.
And I have no idea what Etaew is saying but I have a 32-bit OS

This is not a DAOC Portal problem, it is a DAOC problem.

great problem.

i don't know why but i don't see uthgard server in the list in Portal.
in the favourite it's been signed as "offline"

i download again daoc portal and i see that it's impossibile to me to change in EU version...

Trying to log on. First time doing this. I go to log on and it says Game DLL not found at C:\Mythic\Atlantis\. What did I do wrong in setting this up?
