I am debating whether or not to level up an RvR bard for running with an 8 man team. I don't have any characters on the server, so I will be starting with nothing. I have a few questions:

What is a good leveling spec for bards?

What is are some popular RvR specs for mez bards?

How difficult is it to obtain a full respec stone so that I can level up?

Any other leveling tips for a bard on Uthgard?

Thanks in advance,
Boulderbolg (I normally play a tank!)

Keep nurture on your lvl for songs. I would put rest into heal for exping in group.
At 20-25 you can put some points into music to have some fun in breamar.

Tips: Try to join a group, get a melee dps for duo or build your own xp group.

The 2 Popular rvr specs are:

47 music 33 reg 43 nurt
37 music 16 reg 43 nurt

If you go for the second it's a decent pve spec as well and you can rvr with it and if you got enough bp for respec you can still change.

are the real one imo

The other thing is, how many mez bards are out there? A group only needs one. Normally I play a DPS tank, and getting groups wasn't that big of a deal.

Hard to tell. I would say there are a lot of bards, but i haven't played in pugs for some time and not playing much at all.
And i'm a bard myself so i don't see the situations where groups are looking for a bard for forever.

With the upcoming old ras 2 bard setups aren't the worst either.

Think the thing is what you like more. It needs some time to get to 50 anyways so the current situation can be different then anyways.
If you love bard, go for it.
If you chose bard to get groups easily and prefer melee dps, go for melee.

Well, or go for bard and if you don't find a group roll a melee (bm/hero) for solo xping. I would rather roll a second toon than pve solo on a bard.

Atm there are a lot of bards out.
You can run a bard but it's probably not that easy to find a fg, but you can always run duo with a friend.

For fg I wouldn't roll a bard. You are the gimp who didnt land a perfect mezz, didnt switch endu reg, didnt demezz, didnt rupt enough, too little back up heal + you are the driver =)
In the end you can't blame your grp members for thinking like this, cause bard has a key roll in the grp. Every little mistake can be seen easily by your grp members and has a major impact on how your grp performs ;)

Way too much stress, so with any other class you will have a much more relaxing day in rvr ;p

I wouldnt advice you to start with a bard. Atm there are too many bards and/or too few ppl that do rvr, so if 2-3 bards are already on you are screwed :)

Unless you are a really good bard :D
