I told them most Rangers are melee anyways but alas.

Bows do crap damages here(but not for Tzaaa) and the Procs on bows were implemented with Darkness Rising patch=not classic setup=no fix about that.
You'de better ask for fixing item with proc ,to get charges on it.


In my bug report about bow procs, i had proven there was bow procs on unique bows in classic. It was not a later feature. Just more where added.

That is True.

The reason for that is because, while the other two archers have one line melee specs, they can afford specs into both lines easily.
The scout with shield has the option to use bow in melee range combat, so a lower melee spec is reasonable, espically in the coming OF RA's. The hunter can spec for 39 spear, and gain 2handed damage, for his damage table, at the cost of spec points in one line. The ranger though can spec into melee and achieve as good or better damage then if he was to use a 2H, like the hunter, but at the cost of spec points into two lines, instead of one. If you leave CD too low, your offhand swings will be too little, and not achieve as good as a benefit then it could. But every point you put into it, will cost you points in Bow, PF, Stealth. So to really out do in melee, this requires your weapon spec to be composite 50/51 and CD to be high enough, for duel hits to be reliable. This requires you to give up on a reasonable bow spec or to go with almost no PF.

And we know that, if you dont kite with a bow, you may get little utility out of your bow. 2-3 shots and youl be in melee, unless your assisting someone. So i figure many choose full melee, since it takes less thinking, less kiting, and planning. Just stealth up to someone and go all out in melee. Make it easier, yes, but at the cost of utility and fun.

That is why i stick to hybrid spec. Decent melee with Decent Bow. I Kite when i can, and do more then stand still during a fight, since i know my melee is not always going to be the wining factor. Little kiting, little strafing, Stealth CS and so on. More work, but fun. But without procs, it only allows me to get procs from melee, not when kiting/using bow.

The complaint about rangers, is that there is more fully specced rangers. And that is vs other archers who are normally spec for hybrid or full bow. They can get to you in melee, and if one is fully spec for melee, with melee RAs. Its obvious that melee spec ranger is going to win. If you spec for it, you need to use it.

.... i was commenting on Austerim last post. And the reason why i think there is so many melee rangers.

And yes i do understand when someone claims that rangers are OP, i know its just a joke. :P

It has a tracking number of 1500. Which really doesn't mean anything, since other bugs higher then that gotten fix. This one is on pause till, when ever. The bug report was locked awhile ago, so it has fallen behind in the bug report section. But it does have a tracking number, it does have enough proof for it to be fixed, and it is not a new bug and has been known for years. It has to be a real difficult fix, for it to have been put off for a long time. All we can do is wait and hope someone wants to take up the role of trying to implement it.

It's on pause until Rangers are nerfed with old RAs I bet. :wink:

You mean when archers are nerfed, as old RA nerf doesnt effect just rangers, and does not really affect there melee, exept the 30min timer RA's, but that affects everyone. Bow procs affect all archery and those who spec archery. Not melee rangers, which is what most complain about, when saying OP rangers. But after RA switch it will be OP nightshades :P
