"Lets begin with the fact that this server, at it peek time and most active doesn't have the population that the old classic system was designed around."

Well.. it's true that the high population servers were much larger than Uthgard, but the 4 or 5 smallest servers had a very comparable pop. to Uthgard, so i dont follow your argument.

...what happened to classic? =(

Finally! Long awaited and now they came to Uthgard! Currently you are still not able to buy items at the market explorers. This feature might be implemented later in the future, however at the moment it is not a priority.
Please let us know if you find any bugs with them.

On this note we will start phasing out our auctioneers and send them back to their home and family for retirement. They made a good job as replacement in the time they were here.

Whats about that?
When will they removed?
Tradespam of Auctioneer sucks and many ppls hate it, too. Please remove them, as you said in News :) Thx

Nobody liked everything about classic.

Likewise, nobody liked everything about ensuing expansions.

They're just picking what they liked... can't really blame them.

(Though why Tajendi? No idea. Confuses the f*ck out of me)

I understand that the small servers were under populated but that was never the intent. The developers did not design the RvR system around low population servers. That is why they were constantly merging servers and holding xp bonus events to try and bump population to the "sweet spot".

Either way I agree with them picking and choosing the best of what they liked. And to Tajendi...I guess it was just something they felt was needed to make Uthgard special. IMO they did a fabulous job taking what was already in the game files and creating a custom place of their own. It gives this shard something that the others don't have and adds a fast and easy access raid point for groups to jump in and get their raid on...much faster that, say, organizing a Legion or Gjalp raid.

All in all - big thumbs up to the whole group making all this happen, no matter how everyone (including myself) may feel about some changes. Thank you for taking the time to put in the hours to make it all work so we all have a place to enjoy the best MMO ever created in all its glory. Keep up all the fantastic work!

See, that's what I have trouble understanding. One the one hand, we are told "Nah, we are doing a classic server" - fine, not sure why, but fine. At the same time certain non-classic things are kept/put in to improve the game, but massive flaws of the classic setting are simply accepted and implemented over existing, superior features.

It's a game. "Superior features" are debatable. If you're a stealther, then giving tanks armor is not a "superior feature."

You forget, the reason these guys made Uthgard is to preserve a part of their past. It's nostalgia manifest. There are bound to be some logical fallacies in Uthgard. That's ok. As long as they're paying for servers and development, fine by me.

(Still, somebody explain f*cking Tajendi! THAT is definitely not born of nostalgia!)

I can explain Tajendi. Tajendi was born due to a lot of creativity that was sleeping inside Metty and Sethor that wanted to get out. It was always a desire of Schaf and Metty to create a completely new zone, as Metty created a world editor for DAoC and made the Christmas zone the idea was near to start something completely new. Sethor joined Metty and they both developed the whole thing. They had fun doing that. Metty was sick of fixing bugs over and over or create tool stuff in the background and wanted to make something more creative.

Its similar for me. It makes way more fun for me to work on Mob AI than fixing some stupid bugs. Fixing bugs is work. Working on something which is creative is fun. I fix bugs rather introducing fancy new features because I care for the server.

There were some guidelines for Metty and Sethor what items they are allowed to create and they took it to the limits.
It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.
Every bug gets fixed. Sooner or later.

I figured it was just somebody's pet project. Has that feel. :P

Just goes to show it's your server, and you'll do what you like on it. (Not in a negative wayDONTBANMEAAAAHHH!!)

Thought it was pretty obvious that it was a pet project by the alligator beach camp with the dev's. names on them at the end of Taj1 ^_^

The Beach Boys playing would have been the finishing touch

Why remove something which works and allows casual players (or people without house) to sell items without spamming /trade

when implementing the loot and especially the SI items have in mind not to destroy the lvl 50 crafter market.
e.g. the Brood mother fang and comparable items make legendary weapon crafters obsolet.
my advice would be to make not drop the weapon itself but a component that can be used by a crafter to make that item wich should be automatically a MP.
do not repeat obvious mistakes of mythic
