Sorry Monty,

This dragonraid was an spontaneous idea of Alan, Cuco and me. We posted every hour ingame (broadcast and ally) in german and english the massage, but i didn't found the time to post an info in the new forum.

I think it was an nice event. Around 30 Albs met at the dragonlair fought together for Abion.

Thank you all for your participation.

Calin

P.S. Don't be angry, Monty. Albion needs your dedication.

i totaly agree with monty. if you want albion more united, maybe should you do thing to that change...

why use a new forum if there is no difference. albion is the more international realm i think so no use to set a german section.

there are already few people that come on uthgard forum.. so on "the new forum" it ll me lesser... so i think no use.

nobody would blame you if you do a post "albion raid today at 19o'clock, everybody is welcome" and so maybe would more people hear about that, than on an other forum in german that wouldn't be read.

my guild mates and me were there cause we heard dragon raid was organised when we were online.

if setting up a forum and starting events is your idea of uniting albion, i'm happy with it

if starting a forum and starting events in the german part of it, and then ****** me off because i have the nerve to ask you why you didn't post it in english so the non german players could come and have part of it is your idea of uniting albion....

sorry, this just makes me mad...

are you joking? or just plain ****???

have fun, i had enough of this crap

monty

You make me mad with your accusations. I didn't set up that forum, I only posted that there is one. I didn't even say anything about it being a good idea or not.

GNAH!
Would be better I wouldn't have posted anything at all, then everyone would be fine, now I am only the "German asshole". Sorry guys, you aren't motivating me to continue to try to help this "Albion United" thing, you are only look for someone you can blame for everything that goes wrong.

I won't initiate any communication in the future. When you start a raid, post it yourself, when you want to know if there is an event log in and ask.
I won't inform anyone of anything. Please look for another scape goat.

ok ok let's cool down a bit....

the whole discussion was about communication, i think we agree to use a language that most of us understand,

i asked if it would be possible to form an alliance that uses english

as a reaction on that topa posts an url for the new albion ally forum

upto there everything is working fine

but why make a forum with a german and a english part? whe have this one allready, and why post about calin's dragonraid in german and not in english?

i don't get it...

oh well maybe i'm just stupid

@calin
i was not online yesterday untill 18h so i didn't know about the dragon raid, it was a good thing you organised it, bravo and i hope you all had a lot of fun, next time i will try to come

bringing together 30 albs is brilliant,

i saw the broadcast from gm to call everyone to the battlegroungs to fight a last battle... we decided to stay in sally plains with some of our guild and have fun leveling a bunch of low twinkies we started just for fun

since most of our guild realised that daoc should be fun instead of frustrating us, we enjoy it more and more,

shure we want a strong guid, lots of rp and so on, but it is not our main goal anymore...we spend time together fooling around too :D

having fun is our main goal now, and to be honest: i works for most of us.

Hi folks and fellow albion comrades-in-arms. We now have a forum for the Albion-guild-alliance.

I hereby appeal to you to use the forum for communication and discussions about albion RvR.

I also appeal to all alliace guild leader to post a short guild description in the forum.

The forum adress is: http://www.iphpbb.com/board/fs-58073786nx56595.html

Thx for your time, lets get albion back on it's feet.

Hello everyone.

Over in Mid, we have language issues as well... luckily most people understand the basics... such as " go braemar " or " INC "... or even " xp wilton? ". The alliance channel is quite good for us.

I hope you guys can get going more, tho it is good to see... my kill list on Eggnog has finally balanced out to around 900 hibs and 900 albs in braemar so I think its starting to pick up a little.

well, 2.5 months have past and here is a little update

the alliance forum is up and thx to kronos and friends everything is working fine
there is a member list of 66 players atm and there are tons of nice posts, it calmed down a bit lately but the forum is frequently visited and if a post is made there are reactions on it, so i think most users log in from time to time

kronos (and friends) organised dragon raids on regular basis and to be honest it feels good to see a lot of chars come together to fight the beast.

language is mostly, if not totally english and it is great to see that everyone tries to use it, so i could say that at least part of albion is no longer divided by language barrier...

in game things have not realy changed, some efforts have been made and it is not longer a deadly sin to ask to use english in grp chat, that's a good thing, non german players no longer feel discriminated that way, so let's work on that..

i have tried to read the german forum but it's too difficult for me to understand all of it, but i think there are some posts about rvr beeing dead and stuff like that.. well if you ask me (i know, nobody does) there are some things that could be changed to make it better but i'm not the one to do it i fear..

maybe we could forget about the big "zerg" issue and try to get our lvl 40 -49 players into the "emain" game... there is a huge black hole gaping the moment you get 41 and get kicked out of wilton, so most of the players stay as long as possible or they go to lvl till they get 48 or 49, but a lot just start a twink and go to braemar....

some days when i'm online during the morning i see hib or mid raid emain and take all the keeps, nice and safe because there is no ennemy around, in the evening when a lot of players are online there is a bit of rvr and some keeps change to other realms, during the night, when most players are in bed the same thing happens, fg runs trough emain, claims all keeps withouth opposition and leaves...

leaving the other realms withouth DF, wihtouth xp bonus...

even in braemar there is this stupid "wait till they leave" mentality.. but the same guys are telling us rvr is dead....

same thing in DF, i know there are players crossrealming and killing grey players, if all albs are dead, just log your alb stealther and go greykill hibs and mids... i know this has been told over and over again, but it is stupid, you want ennemy's in emain to do rvr? why you kill the young ones? they need to grow up

it happened to me last week, and not only to me, but i hate to say i needed to enter DF 5 times in two days just to get to the merchants and buy a belt, i have been killed 4 times by players camping our entrance, my char was lvl 23.....

i gave emmy seals to a lvl 21 guildie to buy a jewel he needed from df, he never made it to the mercs that day, after a few try's df got closed and he gave up...

where is the code of honour?

just my 2 cents

Monty

Hm, monty, i do agree with you on many points.

The greykilling thing is something we won't get away here on uthgard. It is server rule, that greykilling is proscribed but not forbidden. And we should honor that rule.

The problem is, that there are people in all realms killing greys, so it is not a hib or mid or even an alb problem, its a problem of mindset.

There are people who try to convince you that greykilling is a part of the game "enemy is enemy no matter of the colour", it's their way of thinking. You can't get through to them...

There will always be someone killing greys, and so there will always be someone killing greys because he has been greykilled so often when he was young...that's a circle...we won't break it. So we have to accept it. There is no honor across the board - its all personal (or not).

The second point is: The RvR. Well, the problem atm is, that it is no fun at all in RvR right now.

I have made some observations in the last weeks. RvR is working the following way:

If there are more albs and winning, the enemy logs and leaves (understandable).

If there are equal numbers and no one has a real advantage, the enemy logs or comes back with almost twice the number-str of your grp and kills you. I have seen 14 or 17 enemies in Wilton or Braemar...not only one time...

Thats no fun at all. Just for example. We were fighting today in Braemar, we were three lvl 30 and one 28, the enemy were four level 30 (one 28 or 29). We won the fight three times, always with small losses on our side.
Then all of a sudden, the enemy came with eight people (mostly 30) and killed us... Consequence: RvR over.

Thats a current example but it is exemplary for RvR on Uth.

That may work on live server, where you have lost of grps batteling and five more enemies do not matter, but on uth it is deadly for RvR.

I won't cry and i absolutely won't open up the zerg problem again.

But think about it.

Kronos

so your rvr at braemar was over ... what are your options after that happend?

-find some friends and come back with an almost equal force
-do something else for 15 minutes and come back to braemar
-check wilton rvr with twink
-check emain with your main char
-craft/farm/lvl twink
-log

its not that hard to find a "player pool" that you hang around with ingame - usually inside a guild. guys that keep you up- not dragging you down when things go bad. try to find a few of those people and enjoy this sweet game.
together you WILL find a solution.

that easy

You don't get the point, i see that.
That's ok with me, i don't want to argue over and over again.

So, just let it be.
