Huge increase on the BP cost of respec stones, what's the point?
Really I know GM's feel like they thought this through but if the goal of this server is to get more people active in RvR why would you ever make a change that make it harder for people who RvR to earn money?
BP's was the perfect way to make up for the huge cost of buffpots and charges to solo RvR players and to some extent grouped RvR players..
You made sure that the price of respecs stones wont go up much because you increased the PvE drops, and thus you just brought down the value of a bounty point significantly..

The only thing this will really change is to "force" more people OUT of RvR zones to join PvE raids, which many people who mainly enjoy the RvR aspect of this game finds pointless and boring..

Please, can we get an explanation?

Yes, the conversion from BP=>Money is a topic which is talked about. As I understand BP=>Respec was also used as conversion into plats.

Good step for trade with respec stones, bad step for charges users...

Do I misunderstand something but the BP Merchant offers Grand Recharge stones at same prices. What is the problem for charge users?

I think his point is that soloers could make money by selling respecs bought for bounty points, however now they have to make 3.5 more bountypoints to buy respecs but they probably won't sell for 3.5x more.

i don t think that they would sell respeccs for the same 1/2/2 p like ever more likly now u will pay 3,5/7/7p for sure so the RvR Players have an great new Farmspot grz to that.

Firstly, no it won't sell for 1/2 but not for 3,5/7 either with respecs dropping from dragon.
Secondly even if it did sell for 3,5 and 7 plat the bp/gold ratio would be the same so I don't know about "new farm spot".

edit: basically, this will shift money from people who do RvR, to people who do PvE. The thing is, if you already do PvE you have better ways of getting money than selling respecs, in RvR not so much.

I would just like to know what we are supposed to spend bp's on now? I certainly wont be paying 3.5k or 7k for respecs when I can get them at raids. This leaves water breathing pots (useless ecept in bg's and taj), recharge stones, and rent tokens. In other words bp's will be pretty much useless except maybe to help pay a lil rent and maybe buy a recharge stone or 2. For that matter just get rid of bp's all together and make it so you can pay gold for these above items.

Tho, the only people get focked hard by that change are once again: the starters and casuals. Taking plats out of Uthgards economy doesn´t work like that way. It´s just a slap in the face to be honest ...

I guess I don't use my bounty points much for anything. I thought, wrongly it seems, that anything you buy with bounty points is not tradeable. Its just for that character that earned the bounty points.

So I thought all this time the people spamming trade to sell respecs were the people that went on dragon raids. That was the only reason I ever went on a Dragon Raid in the old days of this game, to get a respec stone for some gimp guildy of mine. And no, I never charged them a copper for it.

Maybe I'm in the wrong here, but the BP merchants only offer major recharge stones.

Also, the price increase is not in the favour of the people who RvR. I used to switch specs on my toons quite often (esp. on the lowbie infiltrator), I guess now I'll either have to be more careful or go on more DRs. Either way, it sucks. The prices will stay the same, whilist there will be a decrease in the number of respecced characters.

I will confirm that as a new and very casual player here (no 60 plat in the bank) just getting my first toon into its 40s. This will severely hamper my ability to ever get a respec stone. I play in the off hours there are no dragon raids. I play Mid we dont have df much anymore.

I am confused, first staff explained the change by a way to have more PVE raids, now it is to prevent conversion bp->plat.

Anyway, I dont see the point of this change, it is bad for RVR which i thought was the main interest of DAoC that the staff wanted to promote.
Old HR players made tons of platine using this feature. Newer players will not, the gap is getting worse. And new players will have to go PVE some more before coming to rvr with decent template.

Clearly you missed some implications before changing this price. If you need gold sinks, they have to be more carefully considered because this one is not a sink for rich people in anyway.
