old ras - feedback

i do agree for a hybrid det for OF ra as it was on yggdrasil for example.
About Nearsight: You don't have to force a new spell like cure ns you could also alter the duration of that spell to a lower value instead of implementing a new spell to uthgard. About the port system: i don't really care. It's boring as hell if you wanna port to your capital city but for RvR i don't mind a small break every once in a while. If you don't like the port system play hibernia and just run your way to emain. A lot of nice fights happen on the way there. ![]() |

Lower value, shorter duration, a spell cure, I don't care. As long as it gets adressed.
I play hib aswell and I too play 8man rvr at primetime so yeah there's sometimes some nice fights on the way there and I can just /stick the stickleader ![]() To port to housing/BGs/capitol city the system we used to have here was great. An instant porter in DL/Svasud/CS, MM/Cots/Mularn and TNN/Camelot/Jord. |

I see no problem in leaving nearsight unaltered, its one of the few things that actually make or break fights, like mezz for example used to be. Now its just purge and re-insta the one who mezzed you.

Being nearsighted in a fight vs a decent opponent is not what directly makes or breaks the fight really. Being nearsighted is -due to the fact that decent players have learned to exploit its power (which barely or never happened on classic live!)- pretty much a given fact in eacht fight. If you play a support/mage you WILL get nearsighted if the enemy team has a competent nearsighter. If they don't, the fight is already decided anyway. What really makes or breaks teamfights regarding nearsight is whether or not nearsight is getting purged or not. Whether or not someone SAVES UP their (usually) 15 min cooldown ability just to counter ONE specific ability with a 1 min immunity timer. THAT is what makes or breaks fight, having your or their nearsighter and other ranged classes purge the nearsight because then it ends up with 1 grp having nearsight immunity and the other grp being completely crippled for the next minute, which is more than enough for the immune grp to clean them up. Now with Old RAs it's going to get a lot worse because Purge will still have to be used to counter NS, but since you nor your enemy cant afford to use it in the majority of fights (double the timer make it double as precious and gamechanging), the actual use of it will more than ever declare the winner right then and there. If you purge it, you have a certain win in the pocket, if your enemy purges it and you don't, you have a certain loss in your face. The complete imbalance in these situations is what is going to be so f*cking frustrating because it doesn't involve any skill, is impossible to counter and basicly so gamechanging that you can say who's going to win just by watching the usage of 2 abilities a in a game where skill, depth and balance should be key for interesting fights. This is why it needs to be addressed so badly and this is why our current implementation of nearsight is causing for such and incredible and annoying imbalance that willingly gets ingored by our precious staff... ![]() In defense of truth-to-experience.

What zarkor said.
Also: Mezz has allways been cureable. |

Its not an balance issue. Its silly saying its imbalanced because its not, something thats imbalanced is something that has a far greater advantage then the other. This isnt it. There are plenty of ways to avoid NS without the use of purge. It provides an even more important need for a overview and locking down the nser |

[14:12] <ZaiQQ> usually isnt too bad to adapt to
[14:12] <ZaiQQ> but well, im rr10 aug healer, i can spread heal for quite some time... :p Reminds me of nixian's "adapt" to hybrids losing detemination because his NS will adapt. The Bird of the Hermes is my name

So quoting me on something i said on irc changes what? So now im not allowed to say it doesnt effect me much as an aughealer? 14:45 +Ginko just because it's an opinion doesn't mean it's good 14:45 +Ginko especially biased ones 14:45 +Ginko objective ones are far superior ^^ Awsome objective ![]() |

It doesn't affect a paladin either in any way. It's nice that your healer can spreadheal a lot, really, it's super nice. Especially with 1.59 patch when spreadheal will be the best spec heal anyway making NS even less of a problem for you. Unfortunately mages don't have 2k point blank radius spells that make a difference

Because now its only aug healer getting effected by the change, not cleric and druids. So why are you trying to have a subjective argument when no one else is ginko? |

I didn't mention clerics or druids, but mages. Please read my posts before replying

Misstake isnt the same thing as adding something completley new and then call me an idiot because i reply to fast ![]() and im still not arguing based purley from my aug point of view, so stop bringing it up? |

Well you obviously can't see it from a mage's point of view if you think nearsight is easy to deal with and adapt to.
