Question: Bow Specialization Effect on Damage Range

Looking around, i found that the modified bow spec, affects the max/min bow damage. Like a modified spec of half your level would give you 50-100% normal dmg. A modified spec of 2/3 would give you 75-125% normal dmg, and a spec equal to your level and above would give you 100-150% normal damage. So im assuming if you did a test, with a bow spec of your level or higher, and fired on the dummy many times, the lowest damage would be 100% and your max damage would be 50% higher then your min, as that is 150%. But now i go back to my logs i have, from many spec tests, with diff dex, diff bows at diff times. The most i could get was 140%, not 150% like i should. That is with 35+15 spec, 40+15 spec , and even 45+15 spec. They scaled from 100% - 140% damage.
Is there something incorrect ?? |

I tested on Pendragon just now and specced a 2h weapon and tested and found that he got 100-150% varience, with spec at his lvl or higher. 161 Max Damage , 106 Min Damage. ( 161/106 = 152% Diffrence ) This was just a short test, but in any case the varience would just get wider, and possibly higher then 152, but already showing its much higher then 100-140% of normal dmg.
But on uthgard my bow on my ranger can not go above 140% with by spec at/or above my level. |

Here is the logs i have made in the past, at different times and with different specs. Now they are not that long of tests, maybe like 100 hit test or so, but Combining them all and not once will it get past 140% to 150% like other 2H weapons are. And Since on uthgard archery is based off of 2H weapon tables and formulas, it should go to 150, not 140% of normal dmg.

After some testing on live, i found that the variance for all classes is 40% above min damage. I tested a armsman, hero and a ranger and they all achieve the same % variance. But not this 100-150% stated in a grab bag and from others. Possibly that has something to do with something totally unrelated im guessing.

I hear crickets....
I don't think the staff is interested in bow damage. I think there is a ticket open from last year or 2 years ago. I don't know what the ticket number is. Even if I found it there is no way to know the status on any of these tickets to compare to. In short, your screwed. Still, nice job tho... ![]() |

well on this topic, i was mistaken by mythics statement. But i do remember zippity reporting a long while ago, that there was something about 10% dmg missing. Not sure what that was, i was thinking maybe this was it , but now i find it isnt this. Im not sure if what zip reported got fixed or not. Cant remember if it was a issue with bow or 2h weapons, that the 10% dmg is for.

IIRC, Zippity's own testing on damage variance showed that with 51 composite spec the variance is 118-148% of base damage.
