Strafe...when this will be fixed?

The melee system is completely fubar and you still want further changes into that direction? It's been people like that and their inability that led to the melee system being what it is. And the ones who do the right thing by learning and adapting are then punished by the fact that those people get what they want. No matter what they do, there will always be people who whine about things. But the worst thing a freeshard can do is listen to them.

yeah yeah, always the same story ... ... "less whining more countering " OR less "... want convince ppl with experience and more " try a real daoc server for more than 1 day " ... for what i can see, the bard can be: without /face this server can be a shard ... we don't see nothing and anyway, u'll never convice ppl that play daoc from 10 years that u are right just because experience of play say here is bugged. more and more, if u ever played live, u know better than me that the easiest way to not be backstunned and sidestunned is walk back while on fight, easy, clean, and efficent. i have done this against hibs from day 1, and was basically impossible get backstunned. try here, but again, u ll say this is live-like ... is live like the WS / defence? is live like the 2handed alb/hib? is live like the fact rangers can gain pd while not possibile use leggedary weapons? is live like have a mix new ra's / old melee styles? is live like a skald can kill basically every class? come on, say me yes, show me tons of video, but u'll never convince ppl that have played real daoc. now say i am noob, no prob ![]() ![]() c u p.s. @Orphen have u see? is useless write ![]() Last edited by realac0 on Dec 28, 2010 14:14, edited 1 time in total.

Yeah that's because whiners get listened to and people who do actual testing get ignored, it's the uthgard way for years ^^. This isn't the first time melee system got broken because of whiners, happened once before when melee range was messed up so much you were too far away to hit people you were stuck on, you literally had to be on top of them, but at least that lasted only a month. ahahah yeah, i agree with u, this mean they are from ywain ![]() on my opinion u are really cool ![]() me too, when playing purga, was with FromMordred lastname come on, this is not the point, i am not interested on this, the point is that ppl talk about things have never tryied. your clip can be from live, i don't know, but, again, show me nothing. are we sure this bard was /facing? on second stun i see a long time on see him turn around, if u know how work /face ... and anyway, sometimes, even if with face, backstun on live can be landed too, was called "lag abuse" (on 1on1), there was lag abuse on rvr too (or other s.....h....it loosers was doing, like window dragging etc etc) .... but at the end of all what ALWAYS WORKED 100% was walk back while fighting. Here u can get backstun and/or side stun even if back walking ... repeat for last time: u are talking with ppl that started at day 1 of daoc and played for long time real 8vs8 rvr or real 1on1/pvp, who was backstunned? NOOBS ... that didn't /face or didn't walk back. ppl that click styles and don t turn if the opponent go on his back (or turn on very long reactive time). all the rest, is sh....i....t, all of the same category: lag abuse (on every form, and back/side stun is one of these ...) window dragging lag jumping ... all this things exist from day 1, and all these things are for loosers. On Uthgard this things are more easy to do . that's all. c u sorry for english, and want to say i am not flaming, for me nothing change, i am just w8ing for see old ra's system. if, like i thing, all the rest will not be changed, i will continue play other shards |

I'm trying to understand what you're trying to say but your english as well as your way of writing make it too difficult. Could you just sum up your point in one sentence? Because I really seem to miss it. I mean you can't even distinguish a bard from a vampiir. I honestly don't know (and don't care) whether or not strafing sidestyles is easier on Uthgard than it was on live since I've never experienced it on Uthgard. But that's really not the point here. The reason why some are bashing this thread is simply that we (or at least I) do not understand why a basic gameplay concept got messed up just because some people don't understand or accept it. |

But it seems its too hard to understand that you actually have to do something in fight except : /stick 11111111111111111111111111 - where 1 = doublefrost. P.S. Seriously i'm doing this atm ![]() |

Strafe sux and isn´t real skill. That is only the use of mechanics that are out of the game, like server response, your conection speed or your pc quality. All strafe users say that is skill. I never saw any trainer in daoc who give you chance to train strafe. I only saw hammer, sword, shields...
And people who dont want be strafed must move too, if you will /stick or /face, you are died. |

I dont remember a trainer , that would teach you the skill of /face /stick. And what is so troublesom of moving while in a fight to avoid such strafing ? Is it too hard for someone to react to reactionarys, weapon switch, or just to think ? Dont forget, your enemy, who is trying to strafe you, face that also. Strafing isnt always 100% effective and will cost you styles and time. Its not like you starfe to the side and have a 100% chance to do your style. If it was, most of you wouldnt complain, as you could do it also. But since its not always easy to do, not everyone can do it. And some can, but not as good as others.
So when someone talks about skill, we are talking about playing experience, and not the actual buying of a skill. What do you think is more skillful. Specing 42 shield and slaming your target for 9sec stun, or a side style stun, lasting for 4sec. Or maybe an assasin, who has to just wait a few seconds to evade for a stun, with there near 50% evade or the skill of filling your bag with dot poisons and reapplying over and over to get instent dmg, one after another. Real skill is swoping weapons, while having to deal with moving around. Everyone has there own opinon about starfing. And that is because everyone plays diffrent classes, where some can face an enemy and have the defense and styles to compete. Some just want to /face, as it makes it easyer for them to react to reactionarys or weapon swoping. Some dont like strafing because an enemy may do it better vs them, while they try and fail to do it them self. And some have worked on it and gotten better at it, and feel it is fair. |

Commands like /face and /stick was debeloped with the game, strafe no. Or there are /strafe command? If this exist ill shut up. Or when the positional stiles were debeloped, one of the debelopers said: Ill design this side stile for use it in front of the enemies. ![]() |

s/c charge still exist in taj2 and legion stuff. they still are not hard to get...
