Hello Uthgard,

i am new to the community but an old Daoc player.

My problem happens when i pan or tilt my camere. Everything is fine when i am running walking back or strafing but when i pan with my mouse or my keyboard the graphics become choppy. this problem does not happen when i go into first person mode.

There is a little detail: my characters feet does not show the animation for turning when i turn. (ı remember how they used to turn)

This problem is really annnoying and i want to fix asap. I scoured old VN boards but still could not find any answer. I have seen some posts from people who had the same problem as me but no answer to their topics. hope you could help me.

Thank you all kindly in advance.

The classic issue with graphic issues are drivers not being updated

have you updated these ?

yeah i am using the latest graphics drivers for my nvidia 8800 gt. i am using a very updated xp home edition. have 2 gigs of ram. Core 2 duo 2.66 etc. i re-installed the game. defragged. scan disced and all. No bugs, lag or anything except this problem.

I tried all resolution combinations ingame. Lowered settigns etc. still the same problem.

Try Windowed-Mode and Full-Screen modes - see if they have the same problem.

Do you have your Performance Meter (CTR+P to turn it on I think is default) - do you get a red square when this happens?

I would try the basic driver from Windows updates or an older NVidia driver from there website if you can get it.

Not familiar with this problem, maybe something with Anti-Aliasing or another setting in NV Control Panel.

Did you do something that brought this problem on, or just started playing/installed DAoC again?

i just started and this problem came with the installment. reinstalling and rerolling nvidia drivers didn't help. turning on and off AA didn't solve it. So strange that this problem does not happen when in first person mode.

Sorry to hear, don't know what else to try. If you have access to another video card you could try that? Or another source for the DAoC installtion files? Never seen a problem quite like that. I remember DAoC use to make video cards run pretty hot back in the day - but that's a weird one you have. Maybe buy a new video card at Best Buy or whatever (that you can return) if it doesn't fix the prob), but I'm running 512MB 8800GT at work on a couple PC's that play it w/out probs. :(

you should upgrade to windows 7. your hardware setup is supported a lot better. i play daoc in 1366x768 and all details maxed on a single core 1.6ghz laptop with 2gb ram and radeon HD mobility 3. when booted in windows xp these settings lag very bad, when booted in windows 7 never a frame rate drop even in big combat. there is a big performance difference between XP and 7.

simple tricks for making windows 7 feel just like xp:

go control panel> users accounts> change user account control settings>

completely disable this feature. it is rather useless and creates many problems with old programs.

go control panel> display> personalization>

enable windows classic mode. looks just like windows xp and eats up less cpu time than the new skin.

jordheim is a very small zone. try turning down your draw distance and see if it helps in the larger zones.
