but how badly? I have a lvl 37 firbolg bard and I'd hate to reroll now, I'm quite attached to the big oaf.. |
|
firby bard is ok for solo, not really good for groups, even if u try to avoid being first target by being a non common race, firbolgs are too big and the lute/drum will still drop the masquerade

Well if you really love your firbolg stick with it, but i guess it might be hard to get decent groups with a firbolg bard. To some people it might be a sign for "noob" and you need a good bard who knwos what hes doing for decent rvr.
I've seen people not inviting firbolg druids and firbolg bards are even more worse. There are some strange race/class combinations in daoc which work out even though but firbolg bard isn't one of them. And like Calvo said its not only the 20 dex its also the size. If you were like rr6-7 on your Firby i would say stick to him but at lvl 37 i would suggest reroll. You'll have endless hours at 50 rvr where you hate yourself for picking firbolg and the reroll time will be less pain than that. But it depends, if you aren't going to rvr much on 50 race doesn't matter anyways. edit: Speaking for 8vs8 only. Might be a good solo melee bard though ![]() Fabienne - Blademaster

People have this idea that a non-standard race will give them an edge. I have xped with an Ogre Theurgist the other day, as an example. But that little trick works once, maybe twice, and then the enemies know who you are and from there on all you are left with is a big target with crappy cast speed ^^
So yeah lvl 37 is not too bad for a reroll. 1 week lost, file it under 'experience' ![]() |

Does this stand up as good advice for this server? The second post on this link:
http://vnboards.ign.com/hibernian_heale ... r97600311/ Seems like a good write up, I just wanted to see if anyone thinks it is/isn't viable on on Uthgard? |
|
Pretty much the same here. Only difference to real classic is that you might need some more power ras and dex.

Haha thats my guildy from Gareth server. I only RvR'd with him when I was playing Druid though. But I was a Bard before that with a different group of players. And Purge 3 is nice when you can finally get it. |

Yes. When did hib become fotm? |
|
Atm. Hib is FotM, soon its going to be Mid or Alb again. Thats normal on Uth, don´t make a big deal outta it!
|
|
Hib is not fotm anymore, so we all can be happy =)
Anyone tried 37 mezz, 43 nuture, 33 regrowth for the spec heal? I'm not sure if its worth it and if the cast time is just way too long. |
|
It's a suitable spec. Especially for low rr where you don't burn that much power while spamming mezz. It's not only about the spec heal. With this skill you can keep one target alive easily. Good healpower. So all in all it's even better than 47 music for duo/small group and playable in 8vs8. Even though i prefer 47 music for 8vs8, but i got alot of +regrowth and power ra. Yes the 33ish heal is veeery nice and keeps up with druids slow major heal. (i healed 400-420 hp with one, 33+16 tho)
For tank groups 47 mezz is better, for caster/kite groups its better to specc 33 heal in my opinion, gets a caster around 60% of life back with one heal. plus the mana usage for AE castmezz, like thalien said, is affordable. so my conclusion: 47 music = mostly tank groups or med - high RR 37 music = mostly caster groups or low - med RR but also 47 music is suitable when you still learn a lot about bard gameplay and mezz-situations. then the big AE range instant can help you to land a safer mezz. |
